What is the amount you win that you have to start paying taxes on? I made some $1000 bets last week and when I went to collect I didn’t have to show my ID. Now today I went to cash a bet in for $2000 and they said I needed an ID. I didn’t have ID on me so they kept my ticket and now I have to go back and cash it and have a feeling they will make me pay taxes on it.

Oh and I thought in the USA on Sports Gambling wins taxes or only taken out on profits above $9,999.99. But I am Canadian and we pay zero tax on anything gambling related, so what do I know:SIB
I use FanDuel but strictly online. Deposits and withdrawals Via PayPal have been easy and instant, but I play at multiple books in iowa and offshore to avoid withdrawing any amount of Money that would raise eyeballs.

Yes in Louisiana and we have several casinos that have the Sportsbook in them. I gave them my ticket they ran it thru the machine and said we need your ID. I guess since they ran it through the machine they couldn’t give it back . I’m going there in an hour so will post what they say.
if you cash a ticket at fanduel for more than 2k they want a record of the transaction - supposedly this is not to share the info with the irs but for their internal records, and they want to link a payout of that amount with your player id

if you risk more than 2k on a play you have to give them your player number just to buy the ticket - purposefully risked just under 2k on a play there recently, and when i went to cash ticket they requested id and forced me to get a player number
They told me there would be no taxes. But my worry is they send a statement to me and the IRS to make me pay taxes on the winnings.
