It’s time to talk about 2022 College Football futures.
Just Around the Corner – 2022 College Football Futures
We’re halfway through the month of June. Now, eager college football sports bettors are already thinking about the new season ahead. Most of the early betting options at your favorite online sportsbooks are in the form of college football futures.
While there are far more options for betting NFL futures this time of the year. More and more online books are expanding their early offerings for the college game.
For example, the primary betting option remains the posted odds to win this season’s college football national title. However, you can also find posted betting odds to win each of the five power conferences in college football. A few books have also posted futures for the five Mid Majors.
Maybe futures are not your thing. Are you looking for some summer action? We recently wrote an article about finding the best summer sports to bet on. Go take a look.
Projected Team Wins Value
One of the most popular offseason college football betting markets is projected team wins.
This futures bet covers most of the teams playing Division IA ball.
A team’s projected win total also comes with money line odds for the OVER and UNDER on that total. Unlike win totals for all 32 NFL teams, these corresponding money line odds can offer quite a bit of value for a particular play.
For example, you might be able to get +115 odds for the OVER on a particular NFL team’s projected win total. When it comes to betting college football futures, you might find a team listed at +200 to go OVER its projected wins.
Bet the 2022 College Football Futures You Know
Since win total projections are set for a wide variety of college teams. You can focus your attention on betting the conferences you know and follow the most. Looking back on past NCAAF scores and odds can help.
If you happen to be a big ACC fan, you might be able to +160 on Duke winning more than 3.5 games during the upcoming season. Maybe you are a big West Coast college football fan, you could roll the dice that Stanford goes OVER its 4.5-game win total at +120 odds.
If you are looking to bet against some of the traditional college football powers. Maybe you could get +190 odds that Alabama stays UNDER on its projected 10.5 wins.
The betting odds for college football win totals are constantly being adjusted throughout the entire offseason. These odds are based on the money coming in on either the OVER or UNDER play.
This sets up a great opportunity to double down on certain bets while hedging some of the other bets you have already placed.
Track Line Movements
College football futures bets in general are like playing the stock market. You are betting on a team’s stock to rise or fall as we get closer to opening day. While the actual betting odds will not change all that much from one month to the next.
By tracking the movement in the numbers you can get a good feel for where the early money is going. The odds offered at your bookmaker could have a lot to do with you winning or losing. Make sure you know more when choosing the best online sportsbook for you.
For example, Alabama opened at +150 odds to win the next college football national title. A few months into the offseason those odds have spiked up a bit to +200 across a selection of online books.
Meanwhile, SEC rival and defending national title holder Georgia has moved in the other direction. The Bulldogs opened at +500 futures odds to successfully defend that title. The early money has pushed those odds down as low as +250 on a few current college football betting boards.
