Well this is my first 5 Unit play of the year and was almost going to make it a 10 Unit play. Won 2 of my last 3 Sens bets and hopefully getting a better handle on them. Over the last 2 and a half years since posting plays here I have made alot of money on the Sens and I plan on doing so as the year goes. This year although has been pretty even or maybe even down a bit on Sens plays.
Lalime and Weekes are the starting goalies tonight. If anything changes on Weekes starting I will post it.
Sens have been nothing like the team they were last year. Started out well in the first 6 or 7 games but over their last 10 games their heads have been up their :moon:
After Monday's loss to Buffalo the Sens players called a 15 min. closed door meeting before the media could speak to them. Their are no rifts in the dressing room as this is a very close knit team. Many of the guys live near each other and in some cases on the same street. They hang out together quite alot. That being said, for the players to hold a closed door meeting things are getting a little tense. This team usually responds when it needs to. Muckler will make a trade next week if the Sens come out flat and perform poorly Thursday night, Sat at Pitt or Sunday as well at NYR.
The players don't want this team to be broken up as the Sens new owner Melnyk spent alot of money to keep this team together because management felt they were close after last years G7 loss. Jacques skated the guys hard on Tuesday with no pucks for an extended practice. All of this has the players attention and I believe the Sens respond with a big win over the Hurricanes. They have always played well against Carolina the past few years with the neucleus of players they have now. Lalime has been in nets on most occasions. I expect a 2-3 goal win in a must win.
If the Sens do come out flat and play poorly, then I will be the first to say that maybe some of the players are not playing for Jacques hoping he gets fired. I really don't see that happening. Again, strongest play of the year but I am not holding a gun to anyones head to play the Sens. You can get the Sens at a nice price now. Sens win 4-1.
