YTD 86-80 [+6.04]
2nd Half 8-6 (+2.55)
Well Guys, hope everyone had a good couple of days.......I said to the boys on about the fourth tee this morning I would have liked to fade Jason Schmidt today, but other than that, I hope I didn't miss too much excitement. I took on too much hot sun and too many cold beers, but it was nice to get away from everything for a couple of days. (My Titleist saw everything from water to fescue to posion ivy by the itch of things tonight....... :cursin: )
I've been looking at a few for Friday, so here's what's going to help me get my fix again:
CINCINNATI REDS (+144) They burned me on the road the last day I played, but I can't resist going back to the Reds in this spot. Even though Acevedo has been pizz poor in his L3 starts, and is only 1-5 with an ERA over 6 on the road, I'll take my chances on some improvement tonight against a Bucs team that doesn't seem to like putting runs on the scoreboard for Oliver Perez.
FLORIDA MARLINS (-137) The Marlins are starting to heat up a bit more again, Brad Penny is 11-3 with an ERA of 2.19 in almost 107 IP against Montreal, and the Expos are, well, the Expos.
SAN DIEGO PADRES (+109) As you can see by the change in avatars, the Dodgers and I have parted ways. Don't get me wrong, our brief courtship was a successful one, as they kept winning, and I turned a very small profit, but our relationship lacked passion, and my eyes have wandered elsewhere.......I'm also a huge Lima fan, but I like Lawrence (and his 7-3 road record) as well, and REALLY like the way the Padres are playing right now. Gonna take a chance on the road dog here, in what should be an excellent game. (I hate to admit this, but for all their shortcomings, I really miss my Blue Jays.....
. I've gotta stay strong, though....)
Just one more thing before I go - See who's pitching in Oakland tonight?
".....And the night got deathly quiet, and his face lost all expression.
Said, 'If you're gonna play the game, boy, ya gotta learn to play it right......" Sing it, Doc.......
Happy Friday,
Sharky
