I agree on Orton he's a contender, but Purdue will probably have to win the Big Ten for him to get it. (which could happen)

Another name to throw out there is Wali Lundy -- well over 400 yards rushing and 10 TDs over 4 games, if UVA keeps rolling he could become a darkhorse.

Orton's opponents so far:

Cuse

Lets see how he fares vs ND next week before we make him a contender.

He might not win it or be a top 10 nfl draft pick but he is a very good qb i don't care who he has played against, it is is actions you look at as a scout , his foot work, arm strenght, reads and check offs the kid has it all he will be in the nfl and do a good job.

Don't worry kdogg just like the bs i hear about wvu, yes the lost no did not think they would win championship but they will be playing on new years and are a good team, they threw a pass late in the 2nd dropped at the 1 of va.tech on 3rd and 7 easy ball to catch would of been first and goal at the 1 but had to kick a fg and was blocked and va.tech runs it back for td wins game 20-14 that was a 14 point swing va.tech no off td's but yet now i see people who think they know it all saying wvu is not a good fb team? well then why was miami scaired to play the last game this year which was last week in morgentown, miami was in acc in july game was still on till wvu almost beat them and would of in miami last year except for a 4 and 12 catch by winslow and a great leaping catch at that , 4 days later miami calls wvu and says they are not going to play them in morgentown and had to pay a very big price to wvu to get out of game miami picked up houston on that thur forcing wvu to get the james madison game they called 10 d1 schools and none wanted to play because it was 1 game and no way to return the favor for 6 years.

you are right he is very good and will stay good all year, and love hearing people with no clue talk about schedules who have no clue i do since i and my dad and other family members were all ncaa coches or are and i was they only baseball the rest are all fb, fb schedules are made 5-7 years in advance so you never know how a team is going to be.

I like the team I like him a lot as a qb don't let some people bring you down when the closest they got to a college field was with a ticket. and if any of these people who love to talk out of their ass about schedules was ever a ncaa coach they would know that schedules are made from 5-7 years in advance. then if you have a team drop for some reason very hard to find a team with a open date to fit a open date you have. You guys have a special kid under center 18-tds no ints and smart with all the tools, hands down the best out there so far lot of games left but he won't fold, been around the game all my life he can play and plays very well.

How could you say West Virginia is a good team?

According to Sagarin ratings, West Virginia has played the 90th ranked Strength of Schedule. That is PATHETIC! If you disagree with Sagarin, lets take a look at their schedule.

Is West Virginia a good team because they smoked East Carolina, Central Florida, and James Madison????

West Virginia "barely" beat Maryland @West Virginia. Oh yeah, Maryland turned the ball over 5 times and WV had +4 turnover ratio in that game and still needed OT to beat Maryland. Does that make WV a good team?

Then West Virginia loses to V-Tech on the road. V-Tech is a decent team but WV was clearly outplayed and game was played in bad weather.

In my opinion, West Virginia is an AVERAGE TEAM! They have done NOTHING to be labeled a good team.

Scott do I have to chastise you again for basing anything on Sagarin nonsense? His SOS is a joke and I think we already established that quite convincingly, dont you?

First off i guess all the ncaa coaches who had wvu rated their have no clue and then the ap who had them 1 higher, 2nd your grasping at bs when you look at the s-poll it is just like him a joke.

3rd yes wvu got 5 to's from maryland 3 were inside the wvu 20 yard line other was on the wvu 46 which they scored and one more on maryland 39 and wvu missed a fg so not like they had the ball in the red zone on to's well they did their own redzone. and va.tech would of beat your usc team if not for the piss poor call that cost va.tech a td right before the half with a pac 10 off crew.

va.tech did not score 1 off td against wvu, just because a team has a bad half and i give va.tech credit for that does not make them a bad team , they are a very good football school since 1980 have gone to 18 bowl games not bad in 24 years has usc gone to that many sice or in the last 24 years and wvu has not won the championship but has played for it twice since 1986 and won big east 2 and came in 2nd 7 times better then va.tech or anyone but miami, wvu would be in the top half of the pac 10. how much coaching do you have i am speaking from a coaching stand point not a fan hell i had the under and laid off the game. but all the coaches in college fb and all the sports writters from the other poll can't be all stupid hey they are the ones who put them there and all the football pubs, trust me they will get a bcs bowl. losing a game does not make you a avg team they are far from avg, i never called them great but they are a very good solid football team, you are nothing but a fan of usc who knows nothing about coaching or handicapping. usc is the best to you and that is fine but that is called a fan, I base my thought from what i know about the sport not as a fan, i have said when wvu was down rich's first year they would be down, they beat va.tech #3 last year and have a much better team this year, they had a bad half and tech had lot to do with that. when usc geats beat lets here what you have to say, stanford is not even on the same page as wvu player wise and damn shore not close on the coaching staff. you can say all you want wvy has a very good team , i did not say great but they are well above avg.

but what would you expect from a guy who thinks that the sagarin ratings meen shit, you follow the ratings he puts out eaach week and then run the games with his ratings and they will come out week in and out less then 50% ats has been like that since the nut tried to use math in sports does not work another mit person to smart to do anything with it, looks good in usa today but that is all it is worth.

fletcher you cracked me up. Why on earth are you talking about USC??? Second, why are you talking about the "past" history of West Virginia???

I am talking about West Virginia this year and I did NOT compare WV to USC or anybody else. You said WV is a good team and I strongly disagree and explained why I disagree. WV is an average team. I think WV schedule is crap and Sagarin agrees with me and ranks it #90. I said in my post if you do "not" agree with Sagarin, lets take a look at who WV has played. It certainly looks like a 90th ranked SOS to me!

What has WV done to impress you to be labeled a good team? YOU did not answer that. You talked about WV's past history and comparing them to USC. Not sure what that has to do with WV being labled a good team this year.

I am not sure why you think WV would beat Stanford? What argument could you make for WV? Stanford will turn the ball over 5 times? Again, not sure why you brought that up.

As for that PI you think never should have been called that "would" have given V-Tech the win over USC. First of all, that technically was a PI as the WR without question had his hand on the USC DB's back. Watch it in slow motion and remember, ESPN did not give the camera angle the REF was looking at which was on the sidelines. Lastly, that one call prob. would not have determined the outcome of the game. V-Tech would have scored either 3 or 7pts and Chow would have called a completely different gameplan. Not to mention the USC offense and defense dominated the 2h. Again, not sure why you brought up USC again.

Just disagreeing with you and I explained why. Still waiting for your explanation as to why WV is a good team.
