two winning weeks, a losing week, and a break even week so far in nfl.

cleveland and pittsburgh under 37
* if vegas keeps putting up these high cleveland totals, ill be happy to keep hitting the under in 'em. now that suggs is 100% healthy, cleveland is going to be even more ground-oriented. browns simply cannot pass the football. nothing is vertical, its all dump-off passes and improvisational stuff from garcia. two new quarterbacks in the rivalry now getting their first look at these defenses. this has 16-13 written all over it.

san diego moneyline (+125) over jacksonville
* this spot is tailor-made for the chargers to come through. this is a completely new role for jacksonville -- theyre now EXPECTED to win (dogs in week 1-4, chalk this week 5). lots of young teams can thrive in the dog role and pull some upsets, but its a whole different mindset when they are expected to win. jacksonville is 7 points away from being 0-4 anyways. by no means am i trying to discredit their early success, but whats to like (this week) about a young team that cant score, now traveling 2500 miles out west and laying points? jags in an indy-diego-kc-indy sandwich. chargers no prize, but jacksonville shouldnt be favored.

one more:

detroit lions (+7) over atlanta
* lions have had a 14 days to let that philly debacle pass through their system. i would hope they can put together a cleaner game with fewer mistakes. lions always a dangerous proposition on the road, but maybe that chicago win exorcised some road demons. and atlanta is just way overpriced right now. for all the hype vick gets, he still cant pass the football. lions should try and follow arizona's gameplan from a few weeks ago.

st.louis (+8) over seattle. found a generous line at bet.com.

not sure how or why, but im seeing nfl very clearly this season and not having that same success on saturdays. go figure.

3-1 heading into the night. found another favorable half-point at betcom.com

baltimore and washington under 34

two solid defenses and two mediocre quarterbacks. unless something fluky happens on special teams, i dont see many big plays at all. this could be one of those games where you only want to watch bits and pieces when the dodgers and cards are between innings.

cant remember the last time (or if ive ever) bet on baltimore. but im taking a one-time 2nd half plunge here. washington was in this same kind of spot last week vs cleveland and got super-conservative in the 2nd half. and its not like washington is mounting any drives. its sorta like lsu/florida yesterday night. gators were the recepients of some gifts by the lsu offense but didnt do a damn thing in the 2h. show me something ravens.

baltimore -1/2 (+100)

really seeing college right now! i did'nt bet either game in nfl, but good pick on s.d. My top play was s.f. over. I was a little scared after c.mich. game sat as you got me to bet it, but i know why you liked it and i felt the same. Had a monster day anyway and i like your info, keep working and it will pay off.

monday night:

tennessee (+3.5) (+100) (im starting to love betcom.com's lines)
tennessee moneyline (+150) over green bay

i will probably have to watch this game with the volume turned completely down because anytime you bet against green bay, you have to deal with madden gushing over favre and basically canonizing him from 9pm until 12midnight. both teams desperately need a win, but i cant back the packers with that sieve of a defense. titans certainly arent world beaters, but ill take my chances with a team thats more balanced. line also seems a little low for a green bay home monday nighter. tennessee for me.

insanity? maybe.

tennessee 2nd half (+6) (-105) over green bay

no secret the pack will be passing the shit out of the ball in the 2nd half, but theyre simply not stopping tennessee. of course i run the risk of fisher going into super-conservative mode, but pack D is just too porous and the crowd is turning on them and theyre just not playing with any confidence.
