with the season starting to move into mid-october now, a lot more games are going to be affected by wind/rain/sleet/etc...

so i thought it would be beneficial to start an open thread where those who live near some of these schools or general areas can post if there is any adverse weather conditions expected for saturday.

since there are a lot of line moves on saturday morning every week, having this thread might make it easier for some to distinguish if its a legit line move, or a movement that is related to the weather.

for saturday in northern ohio:

toledo
bowling green
kent state

all three games are being played around 45 degrees and supposed to be clear skies (small chance of rain), but windy.

winds in bowling green can really impact the game and passing the football because the field is right next to the highway and in a wide-open area to begin with. not much to deflect the wind.

Mich-Illinois - high in the low 50's. Sustained winds of 20mph with gusts to 35mph. Will affect the passing games for sure. Under play for me.

OSU/Iowa - same as above with wind subsiding in the 2nd half to 10-20 mph. Under play for me.

MSU/Minny - light rain, winds 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Clear advantage to Minnesota here as Drew Stanton has a very weak arm, and MSU has no running game. No play for me at this time.

Weather BIGGGGG impact on Minny game. Rain soaked field for two days. I see A LOT of running in the future. IMO, Always favors the offensive running because they know when they are going to cut and Defense always depends more on the traction to keep up.

cwood is right on with the weather for the mich/Ill game. My brother lives 3 blocks from the stadium and it is pretty cool, crisp out where he thinks it won't get above mid 50's for gametime. Really blowing at times. I live in the Bloomington/Normal area which is about 50 minutes away from U of I. I went outside this morning at the time of the this post in shorts, t- shirt and talk about the turtle head going back in the shell WOW. Very windy and feels like in the 30's. I also heard on the SCORE yesterday Turner was still up in the air on the starting QB. Doesn't sound good for the Illini. I am off the side but might hit the under for a small play because I don't trust what Illini will show up.

The matchup you've all be waiting for - Temple @ Rutgers...

Rain is supposed to roll in later this afternoon, around 5:30, but this game will avoid it with the noon kickoff. Partly cloudy and 58 at gametime.

just cover----yea im in chicago here and its preety crappy. you don't think Illinois has a chance? Turner sounded preety upbeat about keeping this game close. Illinois at least has a decent running game and I know Michigan has a solid Run D which is top in the nations, but I'm thinking with the weather and all, anything could happen and Illinois is crying for a win...

Even though I think Mich is overated I can't bring myself to bet the Illini. I bet with them twice and lost and bet against them when they played Purdue. I also think Turner is on his way out. The last 2 seasons have been brutual, but as you said anything can happen especially with the MOST conservative coach ever in big LLOYD. If anything I am going under with this wind. It is real strong at times and biting cold.

I went to N. Ill in '85 and had a guy from Lockport on the dorm floor named Chris Johnson. The guy looked freaky with his punk style and hair but was pretty cool. Do you happen to know him?

thanks for that post. i was figuring buffalo could be a little blustery today. that could certainly impact miami's ability to make their usual big plays.
