In Reuters new Presidential poll released this morning Kerry has taken a one point lead over Bush. This is Kerry's first lead in over 10 days and the data suggest that at this point Kerry has more backing then Gore did at the same point in 2000. This is going to be ugly as this race is going to be so close, who would of thought it would be this tight two months ago? Personally I thought that by this time Bush would have at least a 5-7 point lead. Some strange happenings going on here in Ohio as Issue 1 which was portrayed to be a ban on gay marriage is being attacked by the very people whom got this on the ballot as the top Republican in the state Gov, Sen, Reps on the Republican side have come out in the past few days telling voters to vote this issue down because the issue would not only have impact on gays but also on heterosexuals whom live together. Also, Blackwell our states Sec of State, has ordered the states Attorney General to bar Republicans from challenging votes at the ballot box and the Attorney General has refused so look for this to go to judge this weekend but the strange thing is both of these guys are Republicans.

I was at a party up in jersey last night, and there were about 60 of us there and not one of us had been polled once.

My point being I don't no a soul who has been called to participate in a poll.

Clem,

I agree with you as there is no way the new voters or the voter that have only cell phones can be polled. I was just pointing out through that poll that 1) the race is geetting tighter, 2) using the same source Kerry has more support at this point then Gore die.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic Sen. John Kerry moved into a one-point lead over President Bush three days before the presidential election, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Saturday.

Kerry led Bush 47-46 percent, well within the margin of error, in the latest three-day national tracking poll. Bush and Kerry were tied at 47 percent on Friday.

The White House rivals face a frantic sprint to the finish, hunting for votes in fewer than 10 battleground states that hold the key to a win on Tuesday.

Neither candidate has been able to establish a clear advantage or break the 50 percent barrier since the tracking poll began on Oct. 7.

"Bush continues to hold on to solid support among Republicans, investors, married voters and born again Christians," pollster John Zogby said. "Kerry expands his lead among young voters, African Americans and Hispanics."

Isn't that the truth, I too have wondered who in the hell is getting polled?

I was polled about two weeks ago!
They ask about 200 questions about 200 different topics, the cheap bastards, all in one phone call. One of the questions is who you're voting for. Can't rememberm the name of the polling coimpany.

I read on another site that first time voters don't get polled at all. (Have no idea if/why that would be true.)
I'd venture to say that more first timers would vote for Kerry over Bush.

Wouldn't mind sitting on gw's +160ish for Kerry about now!

How do you figure that Domydermbest? That tape illustrates that Bush failed to keep a promise and the war on terror has been an abortion.

if you go to the link scott4usc posted on electoral college and hit the link to the map there is a good site that explains the polling process. To sum it up quickly, if you answer that you have never voted before regardles of your age or if you did not vote in the past two years then your results are not counted. Thus if the newly registered voters actually turn out no one will be able to handicap which way they will go. Personally, I have not received any calls from pollsters in the past I usually got at least two calls and I am wondering since I joined the Do Not Call list if that could be the reason.

Shut the door on Kerry?

The fact that this murderer is still alive and the puke in the white house appears more concerned about two dykes getting married in Vermont hardly suggests to me that the door is shut on Kerry.

You know who has been strangely silent? These swift boat scumbags. You know Bushco and Roveco are notorious for winning elections by whatever means, especially illegal, are available.

They have to launch some crap within the next 48 hours. However, I'm starting to get a good feeling about this election. Kinda like the same feeling I had about my pathetic Bengals last week when they faced the Broncos on Monday Night Football.

Maybe the good guys can win one this Tuesday.

All I can tell you is watch the polls. Kerry hit his high water mark today- in a foreign poll based on numbers generated before Bin Laden popped out of his lair. By anyones polling Bush is far and away seen as a stronger and steadier leader on terrorism. How many undecided voters will choose Kerry after gentle Bin uses lines from Kerry's and Fahrenheit's talking points?

If bin laden popping up causes people to vote Bush then people are stupid, as it is Bush's policy that has failed to get Osama.

domydermbest,

well I would hope that bin laden would help Kerry as Bush has had nearly three years to bring him to justice but instead attacked a country that has not had one terrorist linked to 9/11. By the way wasnt 85% of the terrorist that committed 9/11 from Suadi Arabia? Why are we not attacking the root of the problem?
