Cal (-23) over S.Miss L
Cal is facing a lot of talk about being over rated, this game will be a tool for them to show how good they are, and what they are worth. They have the edge in almost every category except home field advantage. Cal running game that averages 253.7 yards. .J. Arrington 158.4 yards per game, 6.8 per carry. Defensively the bears give up 89.0 yards per game and only 3 rushing TD's! You have to think the Bears are going to come out and want to lay the wood because a trip the the Rose is on the line.

Hawaii (+6.5) over MSU W
The Spartans are not the best road team last thing they need is to travel across the world and play a game at midnight. First they are not a good pass coverage team, and many teams have beat them throwing the ball deep. But they do have the ability to run and Hawaii cannot stop the run. Stanton is better than the PSU game indicated and the Warrior defense is not a fraction as tough as PSU. But IMO they will have a very tough time covering the spread offense of Hawaii. Hawaii plays very well at home and I have to take them and the points, the mind and body don't react well when your trying to cover and it is 2am to you.

Best of luck -- short card but a few I like.

Just a question on tonight's game -- is Reliant considered a neutral site or Rice's home field? I realize it's very close to campus but is that where every home game is played?

Big play
Miami (-7) over VT L
VT isn't a good road team and Miami is highly underrated do in large part to Berlin being a terrible QB. Well I think they have righted the ship with wins @ UVA and just crushing Wake Forest. VT holding up signs that said ACC champs might be just enough billboard material for a good Miami team. UVA was able to run on VT and I think Miami will be able to as well. Interesting match-up I expect... I have watched VT and they are a cocky bunch (I think they have a little too much faith in their special teams), I think they might try and challenge Hester. Something that will bite them if they do! Reason this is a big play....Not only is Imoh hurting, but so are Randall and Eddie Royal (best WR threat). Hokies will have to play outside them selves to win this game, but I think this will be a defining moment for miami.

Louisville (-28) over Tulane W
The Green wave play VERY well at home. However the Cards are trying to impress and they will come out and jump all over the waves. There is too much talent and depth for the waves to contend with.Don't get me wrong Tulane has the ability and the REASON to play big in this game but they lack solid defense(477 yards and 31 points to TCU)! The wave are playing a young QB and they lost their best starting CB in their last game. Not sure if he will play. After watching UL against Cincy, the Cards look very sharp going into this game!

Auburn (-13) over Tenn L
Big game for me
Wanted this line before it got higher. The vols looked down right bad against Kentucky. Not sure the status of the QB's for Tenn, but I know they will not be 100%. The defense will show and the offense will be productive. Even though the vols have an OK defense they will NOT be able to stop the run. Auburn will chip away with it and then let Campbell throw. the reason I feel comfortable with this game is the Tigers play against Alabama last week. The tide defense is IMO unbelievable! Auburn struggled but had productivity. I don't see Tubberville pulling these boys back if they get ahead. Plus they have the Vols mentally beating them on their own turf by a lot.

GL this week Irish. I like the Miamii,Fl and Hawaii plays. Also playing LaTech tonight. Maybe we can win that one and it can ease my pain from Saturday a little :) Thanks for the heads up on Cinncy. Bought back my play on them so only lost the juice. Shoot, that wouldn't have been a good bet at the Bearcats +62- :142lmao:

Toledo (+2) over Miami OH W
Inside = no conditions, In the loss to Miami, the rockets fumbled about 3 times in the first quarter. Even so they still only allowed FG's and gave the birds a scare in the end. Toledo is playing great football and they have the running game to complement the pass now. Gradkoski has been playing very well and he has been red hot of late. The red hawks had a good season but the rockets have beaten IMO the 2 best MAC teams (No Ill and BG) The adjustments the rockets can make will be huge and IMO they have a good defense. Miami has a fast defense as well. I think the offense of Miami is not as strong as Toledo and that is where my play is. Both teams will score and I think Toledo has the ability to score while making the key plays on defense as they did in their past two games.
ALSO Tol/M(OH) OVER 63.5 L - In the dome with no conditions on the field turf built for these teams there should be some scoring.

Colorado (+22) over Oklahoma L
The sooners should be able to win this game but the Buffalo's will have it all on the line. This is there bowl, not just bowl but this is bigger than that. Not only do they have an upset shot at the big 12 championship, but they can kill the sooners shot at a national championship! Still I don't think the Buffalo's have that type of talent. Klatt, Purify and some others have some good ability, but I doubt they win. I am a firm believer that success breeds confidence and confidence is needed to succeed. This is a golfers mentality, you hit a few good shots and your whole game starts to get better (putting, driving and touch), because you believe in your ability. THE REVERSE if you hit bad shots you start thinking about it :topic:. I think thats where Colorado is, the believe and are playing good ball right now. Only concern is Oklahoma running it up in the late moments to impress voters. Still I think the Buff's keep it within 3 TD's.

LA-Tech +3.... :142lmao: don't think the book did well there. Good start to the week 1-0!

Navy (-13) over Army W
The midshipmen are averaging 290 yards per game rushing, (3rd best in NCAA). Army ranks 115th out of 117 teams in rushing defense, allowing 243.8 yards per game. The weakness of Navy is they stink against the pass! Good news is Army doesn't run the spread offense. Army has been playing GREAT football of late. BUT the two best offensive players for the Black Knights Carlton Jones and Teilor Robinson are bothered by injuries. Also OUT of this game is the 2nd best receiver for Army. The black knights lost last year 34-6, the year before 58-12. This will be a hard fought contest but even though this is a huge Rivalry the Midshipmen are just a far better team.

Irish, like a lot of the plays and even think you may be right with Miami-Tech. Tech's injuries are going to be a big part of the game as they are with all teams, but do keep this in mind Tech's record ATS as a dawg over the last few years has been good and they are the only team other than FSU which has beaten Miami six times in the last nine years. I myself will stear clear of the 6.5 to 7 and take over 49 points.

I've had better luck on Tech games taking the over in the Maryland game and the under in UVA. Hope to see a good close but high scoring game!

GL on your picks.

Lot of debate on this board and other venues about where the top three teams should be ranked and which two should be playing for the national championship. Many feel Auburn is the best team in the country and many more feel they are second best. Well this weeks game should put that to rest. Notre Dame beat Tennessee on Tennesee's home turf and we all saw what USC did to Notre Dame. If Auburn is considered to be the equal of USC then we all know how this game should turn out. Anyone who has been touting Auburn all year and doesn't have this matchup as their GOY has just been blowing smoke.

I use an on-line book that offers them. Normally don't have time to get any quarter lines in with a local. Thanks

Pitt (-7) over South Florida W
More a play on the hot team against the team thats got nothing to play for. So.Fla defense has relied on 21 different starters allowed 577 yards to Cincinnati and 470 to Memphis in the past two weeks. Julmiste has been EXTREMELY up and down this year. Mean while the panthers are beginning to believe in their system. Big East's 4th ranked passing offense (244.8 ypg). The rushing game has come on of late but they still only average 110.3 yards per game. The Pitt defense is 3rd in the big east in scoring (22.7 ppg) but has given up close to 253 yards per game.

There is no one on So.Florida that can cover WR Lee from Pitt. add the new ground game, a QB that can move the offense, a team believing in its system and a defense coming around and the panthers should beat the bulls. Only problem I see is if this team comes in flat.. which they might but I still don't think SF has the leadership to make them pay for it.

SportsLine.com wire reports

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee quarterback Brent Schaeffer is still recovering from a broken collarbone and will not travel with the No. 15 Volunteers to the Southeastern Conference championship.

Junior Rick Clausen, who started the last two games, will start Saturday against Auburn in Atlanta.

Might have to re-hit this line after the Kent game and Auburn having to win big to impress voters!
