They looked damn good ON THE ROAD vs. #6 UCONN. I know they looked absolutely pathetic Wednesday night vs. the Irish. The offense looked just as bad as it did in their first 2 games vs. Ind State and W. Illinois, BUT it looked better vs carolina and actually damn good vs. Uconn. Their defense has been solid and IMO won't be tested anymore then it already has been.
This is a tough one in my opinion because their is no other coach in this country that Mike Davis would rather beat then Tubby Smith. He has always looked up to Tubby and gets very emotional for the IU-Kentucky game each and every year. This years Hoosier team is not a great one but they have enough youth that they can be motivated! With Davis' desire to beat Tubby and Kentucky I feel he will have these guys motivated enough to put up a good hard fought effort like we witnessed vs NC and UCONN. This is the first time I can remember that the spread in this highly touted rivarly being double digits although Kentucky has won by double digits 3 of the last 4 years. Last year was a blow out Kentucky win in Indianapolis by 39 points. So will the Hoosiers use that as motivation to seek revenge???? Who knows, as a Hoosier fan I have thought that would have been the case for the last 4 years as Kentucky has won each one of them.
The domination that Kentucky has had over the Hoosiers the last 4 years, winning by 39, 6, 14, and 14 would persuade many to bet the wildcats big here. They are hands down the better team, and although they are playing at a neutral site (Louisville) it would be considered a home game compared to the Hoosiers. They have the better coach and more experienced players, BUT 13 points seems like a lot in a rival that I would like to think that Mike Davis has had circled since last years drumming.
I am a big admirar of yours countinguy, but I can't say good luck here or that I hope you win this one. I am staying away and going to watch and cheer for a Hoosier victory! 5 units????? Thats almost up there where if the Hoosiers do win it would be hard to be extremely happy.
If a gun was held to my head and I was forced to play it I too would lean towards the Wildcats. This as well as all Hoosier games is a game that IMO you watch the first half to see which Indiana team has showed up and bet the 2nd Half BIG!!!!!
Respectfully,
