Scheduled for Dec 14th, Tuesday....SoMiss -6'....Looking at schedule strength, and the fact SoMiss last game was Dec4th....SoMiss played Cal, Alabama, Houston,,SoFla, Cinn,Tcu, Uab, East Car, Tulane..only bad losses were Cinncy (-4 in turnovers), and TCU....they were 7-4 ATS. North texas schedule Ark st, Idaho,Louisiana Lafeyeete, Louisiana Monroe, New Mexico St, Utah st, Middle Tenn, Baylor (lost 37-14) Colorado (lost 52-21) and Fla Atl. 7-4 ats they played their last season game November 18th......the strength of schedule difference is staggering to me.......WELCOME ANY RATIONAL THOUGHTS on this tilt. SoMiss -6' looks like the easy play to me barring any injuries. GLTA

:) it looks like quite a discrepency at first glance but these two are actually very close in the RPI ratings in fact North Texas is actually rated one position higher in these rankings......not that that always works......but there's a couple of things I like about No Tex's chances:

1 they are 21/9 ats off a st up win
2 they are 17/6 ats off a win and cover
3 bowl dogs are 84/58/3 since the 99 season for a .591 winning pct

just remember ....the bookie made this line and he has to take whatever one you don't want.........i'm sure he doesn't want to get left holding the bag with a stinker....... :)

MeanGreen Nation
You left off the Mean Green's first game of the year at the University of Texas. Their leading rusher and starting tailback at the time was Patrick Cobbs who had a broken hand and barely played in the season opener. Next Week at Florida Atlantic backup tailback Kevin Moore played most of the game after Cobbs got hurt in the 1st qtr. Freshman Jamario Thomas, the NCAA's leading rusher, started in week#3 at Colorado rushing for 250yds. The North Texas offense came to life. The next week Thomas got hurt at the beginning of the 2nd qtr against Baylor. The game was close until then, but the offense struggled after that. Thomas came back the next week and ripped through sunbelt defenses. This team had no identity at the beginning of the year. The Mean Green are a run first, run second, run third, run fourth, and pass fifith type offense. They had no identity with Cobbs out. Thomas brought that identity back and they are on a roll. This team is a completely different team from the one that lost it's first four games of the year.

With that said, the pass defense is one to worry about. We let Colorado's below average QB, Joel Klatt, look like Dan Marino. He was killing us through the air. The pass defense has been like swiss cheese at times even through Sun Belt play. They are playing better now, but I still have my worries.
Our punting game is below average as well and this spells trouble for a conservative, run first offensive plan.

Just a little overview from an NT alum. Oh, and I think we'll win it but it'll be close.
