I'm assuming you played football in college. Does your school have a Pro Day? And if it doesn't, could you go to Austin or College Station to participate in theirs? I know when I was in school, we always had the occasional D3 player from like UW-Stout or UW-Whitewater at our Pro Day. From what I remember from my friends that went on to the NFL, Pro Day was a fairly big deal in terms of catching the eyes of scouts.
Dogface- I live about a half-hour out of Milwaukee, but I grew up in Baldwin. Stout actually recruited me in HS along with a few bottom-tier D2 schools. But I never had it in me to play college ball. Football is the only sport (well, hockey to a lesser extent) that you can't play if you don't have the desire.
If I'd gone anywhere, I would've gone to River Falls, because I knew some of the coaches and O'Grady played lots of linemen in his option offense. But the academic benefits of Madison (not to mention the party life) were too much to pass up.

Alright, this is 95-96, and one of Rubber Balls, I mean River Falls receivers was an All-American (especially weird considering their offense as you know) and we we practicing their system and working on our "D" line to quite wqorrying about the tackle, make the freakin pyle and let our linebackers scrape, and litting our MLB always take out the FB.
We would like to think we had them focused, and prepared also for their keys, and we also held tight out of the huddle to to avoid a quick count by the QB of where the "D" personnel would be. But we still emphasized that our DB's cannot be focused on the run when covering the stud, he'll get away from you to quickly, and with safeties in that alignment playing closer to the ball and paying more attention to the run that factor iwas key.
So what is the last thing the Head Coach says to the "D" as they go out for the first possession for RF. Don't worry about the "F'n" pass, get up tight and support! (DB's and LB Coaches including myself just cringed!) First play of the game 83 yeard bomb to the stud!!! I still have the shakes form that as RF went on to win something like 53-7 or somehting similiar. I never had been on the losing end of a beating like that! Nonethless it is now one of my nightmares! LOL!
