If I lived in Rochester I'd want to go on vacation too ;) just bustin your balls........I've never been to Vegas, New Orleans or SF, but I think those are all must-do's for anybody.......I dont like the whole persona of SF, but it's still cool with the golden gate bridge, etc, proabably a cool place. NOTHING like New York City, I'm biased but it's great, tons of stuff to do, really nice in the fall.....I've heard Aruba is nice, cruise I went on to puerto rico and some of the islands was nice, tons of stuff to do, just don't go in the summer when it's unbearably hot, good thread

agree with NYsportsfan, San Francisco is quite the place for a vacation. Add a few other things to his list and spend a day or 2 in Chinatown also. Consider Canada too (I know that's broad, lol!) if you have never been. Some of the locals on here should be able to give you some pointers.

1. Vegas- Goes without saying for me.

2. Deadwood, South Dakota- If you like to gamble and have any interest in Western American history, this place, while in the middle of nowhere, is worth the trip. Not to mention Mt. Rushmore and The Badlands both being pretty close. It is seriously just a straight-up cool place.

Baja Mexico- I dont mean the tourist hangouts like Cabo San Lucas or Tijuana. North of Cabo up the eastern side of the peninsula on the sea of cortez there the most amazing untouched beaches, clear blue water, great snorkeling, great fishing . There are some great places to stay that are reasonably priced. You can fly in to a city called Loreto and then go from there. :thumb:

Hawaii for great golf on the Big Island.....

Lake Tahoe is the most beautiful place in the world. Golf, boating in the summer, skiing, snowmobiling in the winter.....gambling year-round.

Vegas for weekend trips....

Key West for Fantasy Fest in October......

Palm Springs for golf in the spring. Great courses and low fees if you can stand the heat in the summer

I remember when my parents owned a 35 foot sailboat and we would cruise to Catalina Island and moor in Avalon for about a week. It was 15 years ago since the last time so perhaps it has taken a turn for the worse in Avalon but it was fun there. If you want it civilization free, Santa Cruz Island is nice.

Somewhere in Corn Country
In the states, my favorite places include San Francisco, New York City and (don't laugh..Chicago).

Glacier National Park, Yellowstone, Yosemite(my favorite national park that I've been to, planning on a trip to Alaska soon) and Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico are a few of my favorite outdoor places....

Agree 100% with Worm44 about Belize. Belize City sucks ass, but head out to San Pedro or Ambergris Cayes and the scuba diving is world-class, the exchange rate is 1 US to 2 Belize and the official language is English for those of you too lazy to try and communicate in another language.
Then you need to head out into the countryside which is very beautiful and cheap as hell. We found a nice motel just outside the Capital that was 15 dollars US a night and we ate huge, tasty meals in their restaurant for 3-5 dollars US.
The Mayan ruins are great to explore and we found several all-day adventures to go on that were fairly cheap and a great time.

In Europe my favorites have to be Amsterdam and Paris for large cities, and Tuscany for the natural beauty and great food and friendly, fun people. Scotland and Ireland for the golf and the beer, certainly NOT for the weather...LOL.

You really want to go on an adventure, visit Turkey. Istanbul is an amazing place and so is the Turkish countryside, The people are very nice, although the language barrier is considerable unless you know German, as that is the 2nd langauge for most of the Turks.

NEW ORLEANS!

I have travelled all over the United States except to Chicago and Philly. Without question, my favorite city is NEW ORLEANS! Been there 4 times and plan to visit many more times.

Yosemite and Yellowstone National Park are pretty cool places to visit! Been to Yosemite many times and have done many of the hikes.

Been on a couple cruises and they are a blast.

Only places I been too outside the USA is Germany and Mexico.
