Betting against Sheets is risky, Brewcrew will surprize some early and then collapse at midseason. Id reccomeend laying off betting against them but I am a homer.

SAN DIEGO (W. Williams) -110 COLORADO (Kennedy) 3*

If things turn out the way i expect them to in the NL West,
you won't be getting many more chances to take the Padres
at such a short price vs. what might turn out to be the worst
team in baseball. The Rockies were horrible at Coors Field
last season when opposing righthanders (only 32-36, -$1325)
and though Joe Kennedy is the best starter they've got, he'll be
hard pressed to top a strong San Diego team that posted a
15-9 mark on the road vs. lefties (+$685 with 5.2 runs per
game) and an overall profit of +$1275 as visitors. Woody
Williams returns to the Padres after an impressive stint
with the NL Pennant winning Cardinals (+$680 in '04).
Look for him to get his team off to a fast start in 2005

Tigers 3*

Jeremy Bonderman takes the hill for the Tigers, who will be starting a year with as much optimisim as they have had in the past decade. He is the youngest opening day starter for this team since '86, and with Percival and Urbina in the 'pen behind him, he should feel comfortable every time he goes out there knowing the job will get done .

He doesn't have to worry about Matt Anderson or Franklyn German coming in and trying to shut the door. They now have a legimitate closer in Percival and will compete in the AL Central.
