Scott,
Boston is now even money to win the series, wouldnt you pound them even more now? One game cant make that big of a difference can it?

Pt1gard said it best. I already have a lot of money invested in Boston and unfortunately bad value. I am happy with a 5k profit so no need to risk more or risk losing more.

I thought about waiting and not placing the bet at -200 and hope Boston loses. But I felt strongly Boston was going to win game 2, and if I had Boston -200 up 2-0 in series, that was GOLD! Unfortunately Boston had the game won and blew it. Very disapointed. I still think Boston can and will win the series but I am not as confident as I would if they were up 2-0 and that is what I gambled on.

Boston played pretty bad in game 2 and Indiana for the most part played as best as they could given their team situation. Yet Boston only lost by 3pts.

Another thing, Boston has spotted Indiana 10pts in each game in the 1q. Game 1 Boston blew em out and game 2 Boston lost by 3pts. Will Boston spot Indiana 10pts the rest of the series? Especially now that its tied 1-1? What happens to Indiana if Boston doesn't spot them 10pts to begin every game? Boston played with very little intensity in game 2 and Indiana shot on fire to start game. I doubt we see repeat of that and Boston should now play with urgency. At least take 1/2 games AT Indiana but I feel Boston wins the next 3 games in a row.

Ricky Davis 1-8
Payton 2-7
Lafrentz 0-4

All 3 combined 3-19 shooting :scared

Boston only lost by 3pts and spotted Indiana 10pts at beginning of game 2.

BIG SIGN OF ENCOURAGEMENT FOR BOSTON BETTORS! Davis is a scoring machine and Indiana has nobody that matches up well against him. Same with Pierce. Pierce had an OFF game in game 1 and bounced back nicely in game 2. Davis exploded in game 1 but had an off night in game 2. I expect Pierce and Davis to play well in every game the rest of the series because Indiana has NOBODY who matches up well against these 2 players on the defensive end. The good news is Boston has proven they can win or even keep it close if their star player(s) have off nights against Indiana.

All in all, if you have no $$$ on this series, taking Boston +100 to win series is a good bet IMO. Or wait until after game 3 and if Boston wins (which I hope) then Boston -200 is a VERY good bet.

Even if Boston goes down 3 games to 1 against Pacers, they still have decent chance in winning this series with 2/3 final games AT Boston. Remember, this is not a healthy Indiana squad playing AND they are missing 2 of their KEY starters.

Indiana should be down 0-2 and they are tied 1-1 with home court advantage. I got screwed! :cursin:

Boston in April went 7-2 not counting the last 2 games where Boston sat out their starters. The 2 losses came against playoff teams.

Last time I checked, Indi was a play-off team.

SCOTT i hope u win bro but personally i like indiana to win the series. reason being BOSTON has no heart, they tend to lay down in games and fall behind early and then make some kind of a run, then just when they kinda catch up they say fock it and lose the game. they've burned me plenty of times this yr. i had boston to win the series but i bet the other way to negate that play. i don't think they win this series. they are 1 more yr away from being a force in the playoffs but not this yr. for your sake i hope im totally worng. gl anyway man

scott might get blustery at times but he has won the vast majority of his big bets--and damn, the SOX stormed back for him so this would be a very minor miracle compared to that ...

hang in there

Plus, he's got a bankroll of thousands and thousands as he's said before. This is like a walk in the park.

No one pity him here. He can peel off 5 or 10 dimes no problem.

Both of these teams are brutal. Boston can easily win this series. Then either team will take a nice beat down by whoever they face next.

Boston down 2 games to 1 isn't good but not the end of the world. I am afraid Boston choking in game 2 will cost them this series. IMO the refs in Boston called a somewhat fair game but the refs in Indiana are completely one sided. Miller has been very impressive for a 39 year old but why does he need help from the refs? Same with Oneal. He has bum shoulder but doesn't need to get all the calls. Thats the NBA for you. Can't get game officiated fairly. Thats why Boston has only themselves to blame for losing game 2. In the end that may cost me $$$$. Can't give away games in the playoffs.

Ricky Davis has played like crap the last 2 games along with Lafrentz. Payton hasn't been good as well. Pacers have players who step up and Celtics have players who step down.

Hopefully Celtics turn it around. I was flirting with the idea of buying my bet back and taking 5k loss but I think there is decent chance Celtics will play a decent game on Sat. and will Indiana continue to play well? IMO, if Ricky f***ing Davis plays a good game Celtics will win. This guy has talent and mismatch to do so but he is playing like crap. Guess thats what I get when I (and Celtics) depend on a headcase.

Worst case scenario is Celtics lose game 4 (which all signs are pointing too  ) and go down 3 games to 1. Good news is 2 of the next 3 are AT Boston. Celtics play well at home and they should win game 5. Game 6 AT Indiana will be very tough but the Celtics will go into Indiana with confidence after winning game 5 at home and knowing game 7 is AT Boston. Confidence might be the thing Boston is lacking. When Boston is shooting the ball well, they play great defense. Everyone knows Indiana no matter how well they are playing, will always get into scoring droubts. I also question if Miller will continue playing at such a high level for a 39 year old. He had bad game 1, and 2 great games after that. Hopefully he is due for a bad game and if so, Pacers will lose!

J. Oneal started game 3 shooting I think 6-7 but cooled off after that. Will he start off red hot again in game 4? Will a Celtic player besides PEIRCE step up? Only game Celtics players played well was when Pierce struggled in game 1.

All in all, this series is "not" going the way I expected it too. :cursin:

Hopefully Boston realizes being down 2-1 is not the end of the world and they can win this series and have huge advantage if they come out and win game 4. This still is a depleted Pacer squad. Go out and beat them! Stop going out and thinking the Pacers will beat themselves.

Scott.........if you are depending on Ricky Davis to play a good game then you might as well say goodbye to your money........

What could be an option is to buy back and take a $5000 loss and if the series goes 7 games bet Boston in game 7 for $5000......it should be close to a pick and the only way I can see Boston winning now is if it goes 7 games........cant see Boston winning 3 straight..........In my opinion you would have to think very hard to find any three players......Davis, Payton and Walker who have sucked so much when it comes to playoff time......these guys stink.........remember Payton last yr in the Finals.......he looked like a high school player trying to guard Chauncey........

well GP was good back when, but he is fossil now agreed (and a true loser as a teammate, that is unarguable) ... Lafrenz and Rickey Davis as high caliber playoff performers?--might as well trot Rich Kelley and Poodles Willoughby out there

its not even close to being over yet. it's a 2-1 series, not 3-0 or
3-1. Boston needs to win tonight.

I am hanging on by a thread. Only reason I am "somewhat" optomistic is that the Pacers are a depleted squad and 2 of the final 3 games are AT Boston and this series has to go at least 5 games. Game 5 and 7 AT Boston. So it is set up well if Boston loses tonight to make a comeback in this series down 3-1.

Losing Walker tonight is exactly what Pt1gard said. 50/50 if it helps Boston. Which is good news. Remember, Walker missed 2 wide open layups in game 2 AT Boston with over 1min. left in a tied ball game. I don't know if I want that guy on the court.

Game 4 is about 2 things. Reggie Miller and Ricky Davis. Davis has been HORRIBLE in the last 2 games and Celtics lost by 3pts and got blown out. Miller has been outstanding the last 2 games and Pacers won by 3pts and dominated the other.

Pacers go as far as Miller goes and Celtics prob. blow out Pacers if Ricky Davis finds his game. There is no reason he can't find his game because nobody on Pacers squad matches up well defensively. If Miller is off his game, then Pacers lose. Will the 39 year old keep this up? All signs point to yes. :cursin: Pacers have been playing great ball last 2 games given their situation, so hopefully it evens out and they have an off game. Hard to wish for an off game when its AT Indiana. :)

YEP I DID and would do it again. I loved my reasonings and analysis for taking Celtics. Just looks like I was flat out wrong or Pacers just playing really good ball and Celtics just playing really bad ball. That happens in sports. Hopefully this series takes on a new direction starting tonight.

this is definitely a huge win for boston tonite being on the road, but i still think this thing goes to game 7. these 2 teams are so up and down it is hard telling who will win the series, right now i would lean w/boston since this brutal win on the road, but might eat my words next game.

gl scott, i have no money either way, it was a coin toss for me, and reggie miller factor anything can happen.
