So. Cal
humiliated?

sa has been just a little better than the suns in the first two games....maybe they are just a little better team...but humiliated????

come on

plus if scotts analysis is correct and sa likes to let-up here's their chance...at home up 2-0...if they read this board then the next two games are a formality so they might just give one up..plus 4 days rest will help phx more than sa...wouldn't be shocked to see phx win game 3....need jj back, need to limit hunter and amare in the game at the same time, need to keep barbosa away from the court, need to limit the TO's and need to get a stop or two in the 4th to keep that lead they've had in both game.....these things aren't that much of a stretch...maybe the road will get them more focused......or maybe i'm an idiot!

BIG difference here. This is WC finals and I said Suns will be facing a focused Spurs squad. 2nd, Spurs BLEW out Sonics in games 1 and 2 at home then let up traveling TO Seattle. This series Spurs win games 1 and 2 and coming back to SA. Big difference. This was why I was happy Spurs and Pistons (2 teams I have to win it all) both not having home court advantage. Home court advantage is not really an advantage unless series goes 7 games. But if it goes 7 games, maybe game 7 is 50/50 since each team has won 3 times. I much rather have home games for games 3, 4, and 6. Much easier to win at home at those times vs games 1, 2, 5, and 7.

Congrats Scott, you are in the driver's seat now. I think the Pistons will get it, but you will have chances to add to your profit all over the place with the positions you currently have. Good luck!

Thanks Bombs but this series is not quite over yet. Especially with Duncan and 2 bad ankles. If Duncan goes down, Phoenix easily can get back in this series. Even if Duncan goes out, Phoenix has small chance because Nash is playing lights out and doing it on consistant basis. Tonight I felt strongly he would have an off night or at least average game.

That said, I really really am happy the way my 2 teams (Detroit and SA) are looking. I feel Spurs will have an easier time playing Heat than Suns. I fear Spurs against Pistons more but I got Pistons to win it all as well. But I only profit with Spurs.

Was not too long ago Spurs and Pistons were tied 2-2 in there respective series and me sweating bullets! :) But Nuggets/Sonics and Sixers/Indiana have given SA and Detroit advantage over Heat and Suns.

Can people admit that I was right that Sonics play better defense and cause more defensive matchup problems than Suns? Plenty people thought I was a fool for that statement. :)

No, still dont agree with this. Defense is about the same. Don't really think they presented any additional matchup problems, but Spurs played pretty bad in Games 3/4, certainly nowhere near how they played in Games 1/2 here. I think you were spot on in stating that the Spurs would be more focused for these games.

I say the defenses are the same mainly because I see defense in the NBA as 1) The Pistons, 2) The Spurs, 3) Everyone else. If JJ was healthy, then certainly they have a better defense than the Sonics, without him, they are about the same.

Games 3, 4, 5, and 6 against Seattle.

Spurs role players SUCKED against Sonics.
Spurs role players have played great against Phoenix on road!!!!!!!!!

Duncan with 1 bad ankle had difficult time against Sonics.
Duncan with 2 bad ankles had much easier time against Suns.

From top of my head I think Spurs had a lot more turnovers against Seattle.

Parker struggled against Sonics.
Parker playing great against Suns.

I think most of it had to do with Spurs losing focus and thinking Sonics would roll over. Even when Spurs were focused (games 5 and 6) they had TOUGH time beating Sonics.

Only think surprising me in this Spurs/Suns series is the play of Nash. I was confident he would not blow up and shoot lights out against Spurs. I was wrong. He is tearing it up. He has to have an average night! Not asking for off night, just an average night shooting! :) But it is quite clear Nash is having harder time closing games against SA vs Dallas. Games usually are won/lost in 4th.

So. Cal
scoring def:
sea 100
phx 108

shooting %
sea 45.7
phx 46.5

3 point %
sea 31.7
phx 35.7

rebounding
sea +2.7
phx +1.6

while most stats point to sea being better i'd venture to say that they are only slightly better because of the style of play phx plays...they let you score so they can score, they want a track meet.....to me sea and phx are both about the same when it comes to team defense, sea is NOT a much better defensive team than phx......DET/SA/CHI/IND/MIA are MUCH better defensive teams than Phx.

Bombs - How come you're not talking anymore smack? I told you at the beginning of the playoffs there were only two teams that would make it to the finals: Pistons/Spurs. You got on my case for buying pts, teasing, etc... But look at your beloved (dominate LOL) Suns now.

Interesting how things play out...

DD:

You are obviously an immature six year old, and a stupid one at that.

I did not "talk any smack", I debated Scott's play with him. I respect Scott's selections as I know he has won in the past and has some decent thoughts. He plays much heavier favs than I do, so we often differ in opinion. I do what I do well, he does what he does well.

What I took offense to was your use of "LOL and LMAO and SO EASY" in your posts to me. Clearly, you have no idea what you are doing, buying points and teasing NBA games that you "love". If you were a serious player, you would not be doing that crap.

You didn't tell me crap at the beginning of the playoffs, you ran your mouth in the middle of the second round. And I liked the Pistons too. Even with the Suns loss, still up a good amount on the playoffs and have had a great couple of basketball seasons.

Congratulation on "calling" the heavy favorite. Way to go. There is no shame in me missing 4/1 and 11/1 Suns futures that also lost some steam with a key injury. I never said they were locks, or too easy, or any other bullshit like that. I just said they had a good shot to hit, and I took a risk. When I took the 9-1 risks on the Pistons last year and everyone said the same crap and they came in, I did not come back and shove it in their face.

And since you told me to "follow your lead", you have been a disaster with your straight plays, and have amounted to a nice fade.

Please do not address any more comments in my direction, and I will not send any in yours. I do not appreciate being harassed by a 5 year old on a message board.

Bombs,

LOL - A donkey has more knowledge on the game of basketball than you. Look at my plays/posts I'm up a hell of a lot more than you. In fact, I have never even seen you post a play. Instead you made outrageous claims on how dominate the Suns were.

What happened to your Suns? You think J.J would have made that much of difference in this series. Again, this shows your lack of basketball knowledge. The Spurs are clearly the better team, and I'm clearly the better capper.

Do yourself a favor and go buy a basketball book at the grocery store. Athlon, Slam, etc? Study up! Then come back and post. Thanks.

You don't know anything about me, so please stop running your mouth. I do not post picks here, but will occasionally stop by to debate handicapping. I am a moderator at another site and have an entirely different posting name (I am SURE you do not visit this site), but come to madjacks for friendly debate.

And it's "dominant" not dominate, neither of which were words I used. At least learn how to speak the english language.

As I said before, please do not direct any more comments in my direction.

LOL - You might want to learn how to write a complete sentence before correcting my English. I have never seen such misuse of the comma by one person. LOL?

There was no misuse of any commas. Apparently, I can use them, and you cannot.

As I said above, please do not direct any further comments in my direction.

"talk any smack", - Please replace the comma with a semi colon...

"and has some decent thoughts" - Try using "have"...

"I know he (has) won in the past" - Try using "have"...

"I do what I do well," - Try a semi-colon pretty please...

I could go on and on... Before you start ripping on my post like a wanna be third grade English teacher. Do us a favor and try editing yourself first. Thanks Pal. By the way, this is my thread that you're writing on. Thanks.

YOU IDIOT. Just stop. You are a moron.

What is right:

Scott HAS won in the past
Scott HAVE won in the past

If you would like to compare educational backgrounds, I would love to.

You are an idiot.

Your use of semicolons is also incorrect.
