This has to be one of the most frustrating shows ever. That finale didn't resolve a thing....but still was a great episode.

Yup, aside from the "pirates" taking the kid, nothing really happened (which you could see coming from a mile away), although we know now that there is a long as tunnel down from that thing they blew up.
Didn't expect the teacher to get blown up. But I really, really expected more to be resolved in this episode, though.

I'm pretty sure the person who threw the explosive on the raft at the end after they took walt was the french woman's daughter Alex that they took years before.
I guess the "monster" which sounded very mechanical, and the tunnel at the bottom of the hatch both lead to the same place inside the island. Weird.

A couple of thing came to mind - the french lady said they were coming for the boy not the baby - she took the baby to try and get her baby back - so Walt was screwed form the begining.
Also, has anyone else noticed the comic books Walt and the fat guy have been reading - the pictures depict images from the island - like last night as the fat guy put his head phones on he whipped out a comic book and on the back was a huge polar bear - plus the pirates not on a big boat so there must be something real close - just some thoughts

watched it this morning. confusing, but I love it. liked the part where the teacher blows up and hurley drops his flashlight and finds the numbers etched on the hatch.
walt is a big key to the plot, knows what's going to happen. he's on the the right side of the good vs. evil line. everyone has skeletons in their closet but him it seems. boone maybe was in that category too but they killed him.
locke is not evil although they seem to be wanting you to think that.
I like how the numbers continue to come up, probably in everyones past. 4 8 15 16 23 42

I have read theories etc. so these are not all mine but thought you might be interested. Copied and pasted some of them along with my own opinions.
The little black kid (walt) was kidnapped by the "others." Sawyer I don't think is dead and neither is the black dad or korean guy. Or maybe 1 of them dies. But this is what I think will happen. One of them will go to part of the island and meet up with the other survivors from the plan crash that we have not seen yet. In last nights episode they showed many characters that prob. will be the othe survivors. Why show them?
As far as the hatch and island. The monster on island is clearly mechanical (as you could hear it). So it must be some security system maybe the government played around with. What are they protecting? Or is this an experiment and Locke did say he felt they were brought to this island.
The fat dude has these numbers that play key role on show. The #'s are supposed to be bad luck but these numbers clearly did not want him on plane. You saw how hard it was for him to make flight? Maybe the island didn't want him. Did you notice the numbers appeared throughout episode especially in the fat dudes flashback.

Also the gate 23 . Those number are fallowing him everywhere . Kate mention 23 000 for the reward. I wonder if the numbers are to all of them or just him . The hatch had numbers This fat guy might have some kind of power. Things shut down or blow up when he is around. Car stopped, alarm clock stopped/blew up, business burnt down, so this might explain the bad luck.

Locke regained the use of his legs. Jack learned that his father didn't hate him. Michael regained his son (and Walt regained his father). Jin gained his freedom from Sun's father (and he and Sun seem to have regained their love for each other). Kate also regained her freedom. Charlie overcame his addiction. Boone and Shannon got closure on their dysfunctional relationship.
BTW, I am sure you missed it. When the monster appeared and it was black smoke, inside the black smoke were 2 faces. You could see that through slow motion.
I think in season 2 we will be introduced to more survivors. I also think these current survivors that we have been introduced too might split apart. Jack said to Kate he needs her on his side because of Locke and how strange he has been acting. Locke said to Jack I am a man of faith and you are a man of science. Maybe people of faith will separate from those who are into science.
So there will be many story plots next season. New survivors (maybe), splitting up of current survivors (maybe), the hatch, the others (who kidnapped the black kid), the monster (who made mechanical noises), danielle (the lady who was on island before), maybe good vs evil with the 2 kids, Claires baby and the black kid. Remember in beginning episodes when the went to cave they found a black and white rock. Black/White Rock. Black kid vs white kid. ???? Good vs evil? just saw the show. i tivo'd it.how long do we have to wait for the next show. getting tired of such little substance on this show.
Thats my main problem with the show, there's been virtually no substance the entire season, other than telling the backstories. I dont think they are going to be able to get away with another season or even another month of just "meeting new survivors". Nobody cares anymore about who was doing what in LA or Sydney. Besides which, they have one new episode every month or so, wish they had done it more like 24, wait a couple months to kick off the season, but then have basically a new episode every week for the whole season.Mjolnir said:
