Taoist, this summer was great being "home", but the weather SUCKED to say the least!!!!!! hopefully i'll appreciate it more in the winter....LOL ... (but the past 4 winters have been worse down here than they were in MN, so not holding my breath) ;)

guess if we brought a summer change with us, maybe we brought a winter change too :)

don't want it to get nasty until November tho, cuz the boy child just signed up for fall baseball which isn't scheduled to end until the end of October, weather permitting.

oh SIGH...... you would bring that up :( i have tried and tried and TRIED to convince him to play football (since it's my favorite) ...but to no avail....

someone even came up to me at one of his LL games saying they would like him on their team. i told him i'd keep trying to lean him towards it, but the boy refuses to budge from baseball, and i don't believe in forcing kids into sports of any kind that they don't wanna play. (trying to con is different than *forcing* btw ;) )

...don't do it, annie. You're right! Let him seek his own future.... When I was his age I was an above average baseball player, but my father wanted me to be a professional water-skiier.... I quit baseball in LL after finishing a season batting .517 (batting champ) and going to the state tourney on the all-star team.... I "was" an excellent skiier and did well in the tourneys I entered, but always regretted quitting bases to "please the old man." You're doing the right thing by letting him pursue his own goals.... ;)

...just let him know that the quickest way to the majors is behind the plate...especially if he can switch hit.... ;)

LMAO, funny you should mention that.....it is the only position he does NOT want to play ..... he HATES catching cuz he doesn't like putting on the equipment (or sweating like a pig in it for that matter) His LL team played against a couple of teams that didn't have much business at their level this year, so when they played these teams his coaches moved kids around every inning to a different position to keep the games from getting too far out of hand. The only position Adam never *had/got* to play was catcher (and he LOVED it) cuz they didn't have a catchers mitt for a lefty.

If his pitching strength as a lefty keeps improving like it did throughout this season, i think he has a good chance of playing high school ball!

and i fully agree with you, although i wish he would *TRY* other sports just to see if he likes them, i'd never insist that he do it. the boy LOVES his baseball!!!

are you KIDDING?? he was THRILLED there was no lefty mitt!!!! the boy despises putting on the gear, and loved being their #1 pitcher! (see, there is an advantage to being a big kid on a small team) ;)

When I said nobody bothers me, you don't see me crying to MJ about other posters. Not even this thread. I don't care. But when posters question my integrity and it results in my thread being closed, that does bother me. Why would anybody not be upset when their integrity is being falsely questioned? On top of it, it results in my thread being locked.

I hope all those who participated in this thread enjoyed taking your shots at me. What a bunch of classy individuals. I never once took a shot at anybody here and don't plan too either. Only shots I take are what people write in their post and is related to the topic. Take a look at all my posts. All are related to the topic (usually CFB) and whenever I give my picks I provide detail analysis and record keeping. Everything is legit. You can see for yourself. Not making anything up. Only time I go off topic is when I reply to someone else who accuses me of something or attacks me on a personal level. I still don't stoop to their level with personal attacks.

So what is everyones problem? Most of you are very immature individuals. I admit, some do have a good sense of humor. I don't get why people enjoy taking shots at someone who never has taken shots to anyone. Doesn't make sense. I guess having a strong opinion threatens people on this site. Because that is the only thing I am guilty of in addition to providing picks with analysis.

Unfortunately scooter I think that if we were to select a jury of your madjack "peers" They would most likely return a verdict of "d^ckhe*d"

As a concerned madjacks citizen I for one would volunteer for jury duty......
