So Cal
This is a hot ticket issue in California, Arizona, New Mexico and many other places. Notice the politicians wouldn't touch it for fear of looking bad - so the public has to seek an initiative

A project of SaveOurLicense.com to help
qualify the California Border Police Initiative
August 23, 2005

Dear Friend:
How much tax money does California spend on benefits for illegal aliens?
$10 million? $100 million? $1 billion?

The correct answer is $10 billion.
$10 BILLION each and every year!

When you add up the costs of providing education, welfare, and health care to illegal aliens, along with prison costs associated with illegal immigration, the total is $10 billion of our tax money wasted each year.

Free medical care alone costs taxpayers $4 billion per year. So what can we do to stem the flow of illegal aliens and stop the wasted tax dollars that go to providing services and benefits to illegals?

Well, first of all, it?s time we face the fact that the federal government isn?t doing its job, and it isn?t going to do its job.[/B

Illegal immigration is out of control, and our lack of adequate border enforcement by the federal government is one of the main culprits.
Since California taxpayers pay a disproportionate share of the cost of illegal immigration, its time for us to act to stop the illegals from crossing our borders in the first place.

The clock has begun ticking on one of the important ballot initiatives to come before Californians ? The California Border Police initiative.
The initiative will create a state agency whose sole purpose would be the comprehensive, uniform, and statewide enforcement of federal immigration law.

[B]It?s no surprise that the California Legislature recently killed a bill by Assemblyman Ray Haynes that would have created the California Border Police.[/B
]
And so now, we must take the issue to Californians in the form of a ballot initiative.

You would think that $5B would certainly cover the new department.

This is why this country is so great. We do have the ability to bypass politicians when they are not doing their job.

Good read.

since a good number of the mexican population 7 fox is not doing anything to build jobs for his people, i think we should make mexico a 51st state.

i think everybody would benefit from this.....

we could create more jobs there via the hotel trade, build factories, & have some companies bring other businesses down there.

the american people would benefit (a novel concept) by having a place to go on vacation (i know many people, including myself who won't step foot in mexico).

we also would have a new oil source, which we surely could use.

so i think it's a win..win situation for everybody.
