How safe is it to verify your bank account with NetTeller? I've been very reluctant to give them my bank number. Anyone know a better route to deposit money into online books?

Thanks in advance.

I verified my account four years ago. Never had a single problem. But if for some reason you feel it's not safe maybe you should open an additional account in your bank just for neteller purpose.

If you still have reservations revealing your bank account number, you may want to open a seperate checking account for Neteller only (IT HAS TO BE A CHECKING ACCOUNT). Then, deposit only the amount of money into this account you are willing to send offshore via Neteller.

This way, your other banking information is protected.

Btw, I use Neteller.

This is exactly what I did. Set up an account, keep like 250 bucks in it, then make a deposit to it when I want to put some money into my Neteller account. If they ever tried something funny (which I highly doubt the company seems rock solid) they won't take me for much.

i've used them for years too, and never had a problem. Never even thought of opening a seperate account before. But I think I'm a little too trustworthy with everyone on the net. Paypal has my bank account info too.

i used to use a seperate account for paypal and neteller but when i moved and changed my banking, i gave them my regular checking information. never had a problem.

neteller is BY FAR is the best way for sportsbooks and poker site transfers. there's nothing even close.

Ditto Jack--I did open up seperate savings acount (not checking) to use exclusively for neteller--makes tracking bottom line from year to year very simple--and savings account pays whooping 3/10 of 1 % :)

I believe Neteller also offers instacheck (poker sites anyways) where you don't have to pay the 4+% on deposits. Never had problems and quick to payout. Next day I usually have a memo showing a deposit in my bank account for that evening.

That said, I wouldn't think twice about it.

Thanks for all the replies. I will open a separate checking account tomorrow just for the purpose of online transactions.
