There many more like these folks. Take your clothes if you can or money if you can to a center in your home town collecting them.
There were so many that got out with only the clothes on there back. Others just didn't get out at all. They new they could not get everyone out. A city that big needs more then 24 to 36 hours. And sure needed the buses to keep ruining up to last minute to help haul people. Shutting down 12 hours early didn't help.

tell me this, DJV..... why send to people who didn't evacuate when you can send to those you know DID.... and yes, i wish ALL of them would be posters here and let us know. Hell, the people who didn't evacuate are the ones being totally pampered, given NEW stuff rather than things from peoples closets that they can do without...... only way i'd give any type of goods to the salvation army right now is if it was guaranteed to go to someone that lost everything following evacuation orders.

did you not read Lawtchen's post....... many of these folks DROVE to the superdome to seek shelter ...oops, must have had cars, so there goes THAT excuse.....many others REFUSED to be bussed out of town....IMO, it is the fault of the CITY that they didn't FORCE them to go at that point.....another point, why in a mandatory evacuation was there anyone left in any hospital or nursing home...... wouldn't have been to hard for Mr. Mayor to force any of them to go......load 'em up, ship 'em out (would save one hell of a lot of rescources for other rescues down the road) did the city even TRY to evacuate hospitals???

Package was sent this afternoon. UPS said it would arrive on Friday. I hope this helps.
As I started looking thru our closets, this became a quite the task. Some of this stuff I sent, I am worried might not work. Just send it on to others who have a need. I have two other boxes also, however I?m pretty sure they won?t work for your sizes. I think the fact that you are 6-5, will kill any long sleeve shirts, so I just sent a couple in this package. I have more. Just one pair of pants, mostly because of your height. Some of the shirts that are too small for you might work for Tiffany?
I also packed my wife?s clothes, based upon a telephone conversation with her this afternoon. I hope I did not send any of her favorite stuff. I might be in for an ass-whooping, LOL. Seriously though, was looking for Maternity things???.

Anyways, I have more, it?s just I?m not sure what to send. I will keep some clothes from going to goodwill until I hear from you otherwise.

I sent another box for you today. It was sent 2-3 day delivery, so watch for it. I think there will be alot you can use.

Mama I have no way of being that selective. There are to many needing help. We did clothing drive here and gave them to Red Crosse. We have to hope they do go to those in need. There also was a fund raiser down by our civic center that many of us went and helped at. We rased over $400000. That will go the Katrina relief fund. My Wife being a RN is on a team from the mayo group going down for a 10 day stint to help where there group is sent. Could be Mississippi, Houston, N OR. Don't know yet. They go after group there comes back next week. As for some folks that could not leave N Or. There telling there stories. They had no way to leave. And some never were told. Others were sent to S Dome and Convention Center and nothing was there for them to eat or drink let alone clothes to use. I understand there was some bad apples at both places. I just cant hold that against the good guys. And it is true bus service stopped 12 hours before storm hit. I guess that is ok those driver had every right to save there familes. If any government tells you to leave they better make sure those who cant have a way out. Like the 33 left behind in a nursing home. Do we know yet why that happened. We should find out.

i think you have your return addy in your mailbox configured incorrectly. i tried again and i think it went thru because it didn't come back yet.

when someone replies to an email of yours it goes to the wrong address and gets returned to them.

we used 118 of them in the move from MN, and so far, i think i've only passed 8 of them along....the rest are sitting in my dads garage, some empty and some still full..... :cursin:
