When teams begin the rebuilding process, it usually means it is time to usher out the old and bring in the new. Brett Favre has a lock on a place in Canton, but if he is -- as he says -- still playing to win championships, it looks like time to throw in the towel. Although Favre had another outstanding game, completing over 70 percent of his passes for 342 yards and 3 TDs to 2 INTs, the Packers' loss to lowly Cleveland is an indication that all is not well. An 0-2 start and a Buccaneers team coming to town eager to erase the bad taste of 13 straight Lambeau losses is a recipe for disaster, and Warren Sapp won?t be along to get Favre?s competitive juices flowing.
I know you think the line is telling you something and I agree, however, what would think if the line was reversed and GB was -3.5?
Now that would really be a curve ball, because both teams are heading in different directions and the better team is the dog. If that were the case I would be more suspicious of that line than the one that Vegas is throwing out there now. The Lambeau magic is fading fast last week proved that and last years playoff loss @ HOME also did. That is a trend that GB fans are still in denial about. TB under Gruden was not a part of that 0-13 drought and another stat its not below 40 degrees. Very impressive stats, which makes you think, but you may over think and disreguard the facts. I think the lines makers want that GB money, its doing exactly what they intended, to get people to overanalyze. Would it be an Insane play I don't think so, because GB could win this game, that wouldn't make it crazy that would just explain the NFL anything can happen.
I just ask myself one question do I risk my money on a dog team or the better team which has to overcome the demons of the past. And if I'm really puzzled then I'll go on to another game and pass. In this case, I think TB is the right side.
