Think this trend ends, this will only be the second time for Toledo @ Ball St under Hoke.Throw out all those old #'s. This one hits 70 easy.

could very well happen. nothing is guaranteed. but the reality of it is that toledo's offense is still trying to find its rhythm with their new wide receivers, offensive coordinator, and gradkowski being out for a short stretch with his concussion. toledo just seems to lose a step on natural grass.
theyre certainly capable of putting up a boatload of points -- theyre favored by 20 for that very reason. but amstutz has taken some very good teams into muncie and theyve all struggled. we'll see. best of luck

gut feeling, but a very small play:

eastern michigan (+21) over northern illinois

wolfe should have another big day for northern, but its the defense that will ultimately fail them when it comes to get the cover. emich has grossly underachieved offensively this year. on paper, they should have one of the best offenses in the country. if theyre ever going to snap out of it, this would be the week. really wouldnt mind seeing tyler jones in there at quarterback for emu if thats what it came down to. hes a run/pass threat that would cause niu some problems. game should hover around 2 scores.

a heads up on the bowling green/buffalo game:

chance of rain, but whats most important are the winds. weather channel has them being as high as 20-30 MPH and thats very significant given how much bowling green likes to throw the football around. again, the winds in the bowling green area at this time of year can certainly rival the winds anywhere, and the falcons are used to playing in less then perfect conditions, but still difficult to lay more than three touchdowns if their passing offense is going to be grounded a bit.

I don't care what the weather says, I am taking BG and laying the points.

This Buffalo team is like a high school team.

It is even amazing that they hung with Akron.

I still can't get over that one.

BG has a really good team, much better than Akron.

Buffalo won't know what hit them after this one is over.

I know that the game is in Buffalo but so what.

They are one of the worst teams I have ever seen.

BG 45-13.

Thanks for the Update Gman, but I'm with BufBill, I don't see the Buffalo being able to keep this with in the number even if there where hurricane force winds. Of course you are the man when it come to the MAc, so I appreciate the report, but still good size play for me on BG.

dmoney:

by no means am i suggesting a play on buffalo. the bulls are terrible offensively, and if you cant score, you cant keep up with bowling green. its just that every year, the high powered offenses seem to struggle on the road there. i know bob pruett hated playing there when he had those good marshall teams. miami struggled there last year. they might as well be playing on a high school field. if bowling green comes to play, they could easily win 37-7 or something like that. but i just think the setup, along with the pope injury, might keep this game in 17-20 point range. one thing working in bg's favor (or at least their bettors favor) is that the falcons were sloppy last week (although they still won easily) but brandon was not happy with the mistakes. bg might be looking for an early haymaker against the bulls.

50 didnt even happen, and the 48 that it had needed an interception return for a touchdown. both teams were really sloppy. toledo was content to pound the ball all game and just get outta town with a win.

eastern michigan covers easily.
ball state stays well under the total.
2-0 day.
btw- thanks for refocusing me soul train. was starting to dip into the low 80% for mac plays ;)

chalks were really inflated in the mac today.
all three chalk steams fell on their face.
dont even bother paying attention to line moves in the mac -- theyre wrong more often than not.
