Thoughts on Tonight's Total

OK,OK.....Everyone knows i love playing OVERS and have doing pretty well doing so.
Here is some info on tonights game....Its no surprise that its the only game tonight and I probably will play the OVER,but not sure how much yet. :)

ATL games this yr are avg 45 ppg
NYJ games are avg only 32 ppg
NYJ has terrible run def and ATL's run def has been suspect too....now running the ball does take time off the clock,but it also open up the pass game and besides that I think Dunn & Martin will break off some long runs tonight...I also think vick will be running quite a bit tonight too.

ATL last 3 games they have scored 34,28 and 30...now if they do that tonight,which they should,the Jets would only have to put up 10-14 pts.

I really think its going to come down to how NY gets started tonight...if they can score first or at least stay with ATL,it will force ATL to keep scoring and not sit on a lead...but if they get down early it is cause for concern....I still think the OVER play is worth a shot here.
ATL should put up around 30 tonight and the Jets have to be good for 14-17.

alot of ground game moving the chains, by both teams tonight. I see a close and low scoring affair.

Steve- Thanx for the compliment.....I don't shy away from the fact the I play a lot of OVERS,but i do put a lot of thought into them.
I think MNF is always a plus for scoring...only game on the day,primetime...players want to perform,etc.
Like I said above...It depends how the Jets get started....if They put up 14-17 tonight...I have to think this goes OVER.

I think if the Jets can do anything tonight the total busts....that's my only concern....

I threw out a little teaser to get started on the week....small change and reasonably "safe"...

Jets / Atlanta over 27
Wash St +41.5 against USC
Northwestern +16 against Michigan
Texas Tech +2 against Baylor

Yeah, I know....feed me the riot act about college teasers being dumb....I just couldn't pass that one up...those games could all be good without the extra help....

My biggest worry of those four would be tonight's game.....

Good luck on that total tonight. I'm usually an OVER player myself and love to eat up those qtr and halftime bets but tonight might be a nice low scoring affair. Jets will do anything to keep this game close. Vinny will do just enough not to lose the game. OVERs and Fav's have been hitting alot lately... might be time for the public to lose. I'm still undecided, but good luck with whatever you do.

can't see how the Jets score more than 14 points after losing their starting QB and center and playing in a hostile environment. The question is...can Atlanta rack up more than 30 points against a pretty good defensive team? I'm thinking this will be 24-6 for Atlanta

GL tonight guys.......The fact is that none of us know what is going to happen until they get on the field and play.
i put a lot of thought in my picks and bet accordingly...i have a lot on confidence in them also...if it doesn't hit,it doesn't hit.But I stand behind it...OVER 40.5.
hopefully we will be back on here later celebrating in this thread...I wish you all the best tonight. :)

totals on monday night this year i believe are 2 overs, 4 unders and 1 push.(Giants game included)

Good ole Herman Edwards on stopping Vick, "the way to stop him is have him on the sidelines watching our offense"

So expect the Jets to ATTEMPT to control the clock and feed CuMar. Don't know if they will be succesful, but obviously that's their gameplan. Won't be able to hang punch for punch otherwise.

for this reason, you will always be betting into an inflated number.

the fact that atlanta has a porous run defense only increases the probability that testaverde will be putting the ball in the air as few times as possible.

will the passing games open up? maybe.
but michael vick is a mediocre passer at best, and the other guy is 57 years old.

just seems like youre trying to talk yourself into an over play because its the only thing on TV

btw- 2 of those 3 games where atlanta scored 20 pts were with schaub at quarterback.

Just want to correct you, ATL has scored 24+ their last 4 games

But I could see a low scoring game, no play for me on the total.

typo on my part. sorry. meant to say that the times when atlanta approached THIRTY were with schaub at qb. hit the 2 instead of the 3.

LUCKY, when i looked at this number I thought it was low also. Then I capped the game and see Vinnie getting sacked 3-4-5 times plus 3-5 holding calls. Can you say DRIVE KILLER?????

40 is a dangerous number as a 17-17 tie in the 4th will lead to an easy over 50%+ of the time. That said, I capped this thing at ATL 21/24/28 NYJ 7/9/10/13

not trying to bust your chops just think that on the road the Jets will be lucky to bust 2 TD's

We all will know in 4 hours !
