BG -4.5 over Toledo: Can't be accused of betting with my heart here since I have degrees from both institutions. But, BG is a completely different team with Jacobs and Toledo is just not playing very well right now. Gradkowski has made some questionable throws in recent game and the Rockets are banged up. Home field has been huge in this series and I see the Falcons covering this number with a big second half.

BG,

I think it is probably about right. It's going to be windy but that is normal at Doyt Perry Field. These teams have lit up the scoreboard in the past. Too many variables for me to touch the total.

Division 1-AA Playoffs

Division 1-AA Playoffs

Furman -1 over Nicholls State: Both teams run the ball very well but Furman is able to throw fairly well, too. This will be the difference in the game as Furman will try to force Nicholls State to throw and they won't be able to. Furman's high powered offense should be able to make enough big plays through the air to pick up the first round win.

Division III Playoffs

Division III Playoffs

Mary Hardin-Baylor -8 over Wesley: MHB is one of the favorites to win it all while Wesley is just happy to advance to Round 2. MHB's defense should shut down Wesley's offense and make them realize they are playing with the big boys now. I don't see this one being close, 2 unit play.

Delaware Valley +4 over Hobart: DV and Hobart both can get it done offensively; both teams average over 200 yards per game passing and rushing. Defensively, neither team is anything special. I like the home dog in what could be a high scoring affair.

Mount Union -6.5 over Augustana: MU's defense will be strong enough to control Augustana's rushing game. If they are forced to throw, it won't be pretty. MU has been on a mission since their streak ended and should cover the TD at home.

mount union might go down this week, but it takes major, MAJOR balls to bet against them at less than a touchdown. that program just knows how to win. i agree, it's almost an obligatory play, win or lose

Augustana, is a fantastic program, they set records in the 80s & 90s with incredible teams. Lost a Amos Alonso Stagg Bowl in middle 80s to them, they wheeled something off like 80 St. victories, very solid program. Keep a eye on UNION NY, finished season 10-0, and beat a solid Ithaca squad last Saturday. Never saw division 3 football on here L ol

Won't touch that Mt Union/Augustana game, either. Will be rooting for Augustana as the school is located right across the Mississippi River from me in Rock Island, Illinois.
Some of you older guys might remember than Ken Anderson played at Augustana in the late 60s before going on to a successful career with the Bengals. This was before Bob Reade lead the Vikings to 4 consecutive NCAA D-III championships from 83-86.
Wish this was being televised locally, but thats what the internet was invented for....:mj07:

rf, that guy was a tremendous coach, and what a program, I went to Union NY, and lost 2 Stagg Bowl Championships, 1 to Augustana in the final 2 minutes. Awesome program.

Shamrock,

did you play football there? Before Bob Reade was head coach at Augie, he was a very successful high school coach just down the road from Rock Island. Geneseo, Illinois is approx. 25 minutes from here east on I-80. His teams there won 3 straight championships and won a state-record 52 straight as well. He also was know to be one of the nicest guys you would ever have the pleasure to meet. good stuff!

Texas/Texas A&M under 35 (1st half): I don't usually post games outside of certain leagues but I really like this number. I think A&M can move the ball enough in the first half to keep the clock running. Their defense is rotten but they may enough early fight in them to force a FG instead of giving up the TD. If they can do that once or twice, the under will be good. (Of course, Texas could also put up 35 in the first quarter, but I'm betting on the Aggies to not lay down till the second half)

I see the Mount Union game is now at 9. If it gets to 10 you might want to buy some of it back.

La. Lafayette +2 over La. Monroe: If ULL wins and Arkansas St. loses, ULL wins the tiebreaker because, get this...ULM will not be bowl eligible. How bad is your conference when one of the champions doesn't win 6 games? Anyway, these two teams are just about even but I like ULL's running game and physical play. ULM will have trouble stopping Fenroy and ULL will be able to control the clock in the second half.

Arkansas St. -2.5 over North Texas: Another example of how bad the Sun Belt is...Arkansas St. has scored 29 points in the last four games and can win a piece of the title with a win at North Texas. They will go to a bowl game if ULL beats ULM. Even though their offense has struggled lately, they still managed to win two of those 4 games. The Mean Green has struggled all year defensively (104th in total defense) and offensively (114th in total offense). Their quarterback is pathetic and they have lost 5 in a row. I don't see them putting it all together in the season finale. As with most Sun Belt games, don't let your kids watch it, but lay the small chalk on what should be a highly motivated Arkansas St. team.

Two more...

Two more...

Hampton +7.5 over Richmond: This game opened at 5 but is now playable at 7.5. This should be a real defensive battle. Richmond has played a more difficult schedule but Hampton has a great running game. 7.5 is too many points for Richmond to cover in a playoff game.

Eastern Washington -2 over Northern Iowa: EWU has been a covering machine this year and I don't see that changing against N. Iowa. EWU has too much offensive firepower and should be able to take advantage of NIU's weak pass defense.
