. . . . . but it took a couple of WAC teams like Nevada & LA Tech to expose them. I think Fresno turned the ball over to the Trojans five times and still gave them all they wanted. In the first half against mighty LA Tech, FSU turns it over four times and are getting rolled.

UCLA is looking better by the minute. Drew Olson is the best QB in the NCAA and should easily manage to keep it within three touchdowns.

So. Cal
let me prepare the statements for you (and the rest of your clan) for tomorrow:

sc rolls:

the pac-10 sucks...ucla is the 2nd best team in that conf.?

ucla plays it close:

sc sucks....they're in trouble vs texas

ucla wins:

sc and the pac-10 sucks

Let me start by saying that your bitter attitude is completely misguided when it comes to me. You have NEVER seen a post of mine that comes close to saying that the "PAC 10 SUCKS", although it was kind of fun typing that. (LOL!)

However, there is little room to argue that USC has played far from their best football this season especially in games against inferior clearly inferior teams. Last week's game between FSU and Nevada as well as tonight's game only serve to reinforce that fact.

Do the Trojans only play as hard as necessary to beat their opponents? Perhaps, and there is no room to argue with their sucess with that strategy. Tomorrow their defense would be well advised to bring their best because Mr. Olsen is without question the best QB they will face so far. Thirty touchdowns and three interceptions speak for themselves.

BTW, unlike you and you pal Scooter, I am not a member of any "clan".

agree....sc has played to win not dominate this year

however....brady quinn was the best qb sc faced this year....by far.....i'd also argue that pinegar is about as good as olson, but with less weapons

Sorry Judge, I coudn't resist, and probably took the words out of your mouth, but I get tired of Scott Jr's antics also! :s4: Whatever, thats why they play the games............

Then perhaps you will understand my reluctance to conceed the pending "Three Pete" which will require a USC victory in the Rose Bowl against my alma mater.

Championship caliber teams do not typically play down to the level of their competition and similarly do not have to make the kind of 2nd half adjustments which have allowed the reigning champs to maintian their incredible winning streak.

Just MAYBE you can acknowledge that the Longhorns are a very good team that has a realistic chance of taking the crown from the PAC 10 darlings.

Who am I kidding? That kind of objective approach is clearly too much to ask from you and your "clan".

The Rose Bowl Parade can not be over with too soon as far as I am concerned so we can all watch what will surely be one of the best games the BCS system has produced yet.

sure texas can win...they are clearly one of the two best teams

my point is sc will not come out flat, they will not play a mediocre game vs texas.....if you're concerned see (iowa, michigan and especially the team who owned you. ou).....they all got worked over right from the get go.....young will see things he hasn't seen from the sc defense all year, esp in the second half....carroll will "open the playbook" for the defense.....

you will score....but sc will score MANY more

USC always opens the playbook for bowl games. That is a FACT!

I think in Rose Bowl you will see Lendale White and Reggie Bush in the backfield together. They did it last year but not once this season.

I gotta say, USC's last 3 BCS bowl opponents didn't bring anything different to the table than what they did in regular season. (Iowa, Michigan, and OU) Will Texas?

Hey Franky, no problem man. Sometimes I feel like I'm on an island when I try the rationally discuss football with some of these Whack 10 guys. I mean for God's sake, does everything have to be on such a personal level? I don't know.

If anyone cares to look at this season's premier quarterbacks in an objective manner, they clearly have to admit that Olsen has performed at a level that is simply unparalelled by his counterparts. It is a travesty that the trophy that Leinart took home last week for best senior quarterback is not on Drew Olsen's mantle today. For those that are confused by this assertion, I encourage you to look at the numbers.

I think that Drew will give it his best shot tomorrow in an attempt at redemption. Trojans by only 10.

When Young throws 2 picks and fumbles twice in the Rose Bowl we'll see who the best QB is....

off topic but I had to take a shot

why?

because i think quinn and pinegar are better than olson (both will be drafted higher than olson)?

what happened to the "pac-10 is weak" argument with olson...i figured he'd be slammed because he plays in such a weak conference :)

olson has had a remarkable season...i'd take brady quinn over him in an instant and think pinegar is his equal so in my respectful opinion olson will NOT be the best qb sc has faced.

Lets see what Olson does tom. against USC. That will tell me a lot. IMO the jury is still out on Olson. :) USC will def. be the best defense UCLA has faced all year.

UCLA has not had a difficult schedule. Look at home/away games and who they played. They also missed out on Oregon.

My biggest complaint on Olson is he doesn't use TE Lewis enough. Lewis is a stud.

BTW, i would take Quinn over Olson too. What the hell, I think I would take Leinart too! ;)

La Tech will be 7-4 should they hang on to win, 6-2 in the conference. Fresno was 8-3 coming in. Thats a difference of one game in the win/loss column. Hardly EXPOSING someone man. Anyone laying 26 points in a conference matchup featuring teams with similar records, is who was exposed tonight. People forget conference play is conference play, whether its the WAC, MAC, ACC, or the BIG 12. After tonight both teams will be 6-2 in their conference, hardly worth 26 points.

Scooter, while your undying love for Carol and his boys is in some strange way, admirable, one has to wonder what you and yours will do once (dare I say it?) the Trojans finally lose a game.

I mean, what future does a USC "volunteer" waterboy have? How does one move on with their life after (God forbid!) the men of Troy fail their adoring fans?

If by some football miracle, Texas is actually able to compete against USC in the Rose Bowl and perhaps even (where's the lightning bolt?) beat USC, will you find it witihin yourself to somehow post an objective perspective?

Wake up Judge, these things could never happen.

The day USC loses, I will stand up and applaud what they have accomplished!

Then I will go to madjacks and read all the posts saying USC is over-rated, pac 10 sucks, ha ha USC lost, etc.

After I read the MJ posts, it will be time to start another streak! The future looks very bright and USC shouldn't lose too many games as long as Pete Carroll is leading the way! The scary part is USC is just getting started!

I am continually shocked about the ignorance of the posters in this forum as it relates to the strengths of the Longhorns' defense and the lack of defense that the Trojans have demonstrated this season.

I will say no more other than to warn those that believe that USC can't be beaten. See ya in Pasadena!
