the land of confusion
Two team teasers rule!!

I reckon you could train a monkey to pick em with a little common sense. Even some of the guys around here can do it!! :mj07:

If you can't find a couple of teams that can cover their number with an extra 7 points tacked on.....then you shouldn't be betting.

They are money for nothing and almost as good as sex!!..........almost.

Hey.........I'm on a 14-1 run with them so I could be turning!!

I'll add this...everthing depends on the line...there are some weeks that you can find a game or two that will beat the spread and thus you don't need to tease...but there are other weeks and instances where a teaser gives you a better chance of winning.

teasers have made a profit for me along with some ml parlays. i have 2 open teasers that are open from yesterday. i need eagles plus 10.5 to win 7 units, i need seattle plus 6 to win 4 units and i have open ml parlay with seattle to win several units . now if seattle will win by td i win all 3. either way i should make profit tonight.

I think towards the end of the year lines seem to really tighten up. Teasing a two teamer can be very advantageous. Two teamers only.

good info...

good info...

I was curious more than anything...I have tried them in the past - betting games straight just seems like a better way to go. Teasers (especially 10 pointers) do not make sense to me. Just like above....Chargers and the over last night seemed like free money - not so. I will continue to go straight up and piss what winnings I have away on 2 team pars...been doing it for 13 years, no reason to stop now. That said - Eagles plus the points tonight.

10 point teaser have been doing very well this year. I have been doing them for years and this year seems to be really paying off. I do not tease totals only sides. Look at the finals scores of the last few weeks. I would say about 75-80% of the games have been within 10 points of the line for both sides.

Have not been very many big game upsets this year.

The key to teasers is getting them to go under key numbers. You have to make sure to get favorites to - 2 1/2, pick, -6 1/2, etc. With totals, key numbers are 37, 40, 43, 44, etc. You want to get over or under these numbers. The problem with teasing last nights game was that it didn't get you below key numbers. SD- 4 1/2 and over 44 was a bad risk. It would have been perfect as 2/3 of a 3 team 10 pointer as it would have gotten you below key numbers on the total and spread. Some games are good for teasers and some are not........ Picking winning teasers is easier then picking straight up winners most of the time. Money line parlays are also a favorite of mine.

Like last night, the Patriots/Jets game was one touchdown away from screwing those people on the Patriots. The 10 point teaser allowed you to sit back and relax. Same goes for Jack/Cle , Minn/Det, GB/Chi, etc etc...lots of games...add 10 points to those spreads and you can have a more relaxing day. Granted, pretty much every favorite covered, but a score here and there would have changed the tides.

Paw, as good as sex.........? C'mon now, I know you're married and things may have dried up a little over the years but ?? Lmao! Those two teamers are the only reason I'm in the plus right now after this years college debacle. Indy this week in an open tease or with something else that looks appealing= cash it!

BTW, I use the same theories Pug. Fav's inside a Fg being a fav of mine over the years, but getting lines inside key numbers is important considering a push on a tease is deemed a loss with most locals. If you know how to play em' they're as solid a bet as you will find IMO. (2 teamers that is)

winning teaser

winning teaser

have won every nfl teaser i have played this year
,and seeming lost a lot of college teasers, stay away from college teasers! i play 13 pointers -120 4 teamers, any tie equals a loss

preliminary look
i will pick 4 out of the following
indy plus 5.5
seattle minus 2.5
denver -1
dall plus 10
san diego pk
cinici plus 1
carolina plus 7.5

so far leaning very heavy to
carolina, sd, seattle and indy

I'm very glad you just posted that RollTide, because that helps prove the point I was about to make. I have found that by far and away whenever I win a teaser I would have won it if I had just straight parlayed. I think too often the people on here that are advocating teasers don't go back and do that analysis and find out that they actually cost themselves money by doing the teaser instead of the parlay.

Take RollTide's bets this weekend. Let's say he bet $100 on each of those teasers (look like 6 point teasers right?), they would pay off $90 and some change (we'll round up to $91) so this is how he did this weekend:

NE -4, Chicago -1 - Winner (+$91)
NE -4, Vikes +3 - Winner (+$91)
Seattle +2.5, under 46 - Winner (+$91)

That's a tidy $273 profit (not bad and congrats RollTide).

However, let's look at what would have happened in a straight parlay situation, where a $100 bet on a 2 teams pays off $260:

NE -10, Chicago -7 - Winner (+$260)
NE -10, Vikes - 3 - Winner (+$260)
Seattle - 3.5, under 40 - Loser (-$100)

Even with the 1 loss, that's a profit of $420.

I'd be very interested in knowing, if anyone wants to take the time to do it, if people have experienced similar results with the rest of their teasers. I think they are misleading because while you do win a lot more and you might feel better about a 3-0 teaser day versus a 2-1 parlay day, you actually make more money on the parlays. Of course, over the long haul you can probably make more money overall just on straight bets, but that's a different argument altogether. :)

So. Cal
i've been trying to make that point in countless threads on this board to no avail....amateurs

if approx 18% of your teasers hit as straight parlays, you're making more money on the parlays

great example above

Ok, but lets imagine that GB scored last minute to make score 14-19.
And lets say the Jets got a field goal or a garbage Td.
Now you down to 3 losing parlays.

I've been kicking ass betting 3-team 6-point teasers. Been a gold mine for me. Betting straight up has gotten me nowhere

Killrus - and if the Phills don't fumble at the beginning of the 2nd half last night, it would be 3 winning parlays. Sure, until Favre threw the int that was run back for a TD, it didn't look like the Bears would cover. But in gambling what MIGHT have happened doesn't matter; only what did happen does.

Absolutely winning a parlay will make you sweat it out a whole lot more than winning a teaser. But that doesn't change the fact that it was still more profitable to do a parlay versus the teaser.

I am not stating this as an immutable law. I am really interested in it and I am just sharing my experience with it. I really would be interested in some of the people that have posted in this thread to post their plays if they still have them, and that would give us a much larger sample size to draw a conclusion from. My feeling, though, which is both from my own experience as well as what I have heard from cappers that have been doing this a lot longer than me, is that you are better off with the parlays.

PatsJamm, if you bet online are you able to go back and pull the last couple weeks of those parlays? It would really help us decipher whether or not what I think is true.

Seriously, I would love to be proven wrong. I used to love teasers but stopped playing them due to the reasons I mentioned above. However, maybe I just had a small run where it worked out that way. Would go back to it in a second if I thought I could make more money at it.
