Placed a future wager on the Steelers to win the SB on March 26, 2005 at 13/1.

$200 to win $2600.

Now I got lucky as a favorite situation where I can take the points for a few as a hedge and win BOTH. I am deciding whether to take half on the PS and half on the ML of Seattle but might wait for the line to go up slightly and get some extra middle...IMO the Steelers win by 10 but I should play it safe and make at least a G.

Any thoughts on what to do? Maybe wait for the adjusted lines and take Seattle +14 or something like that?

Dont Hedge..............Steelers win this...........You dont go on the road and win at Cincy, Indy and Denver only to lose to Seattle.........a team that has not been tested on the road yet this year..........

I disagree. Always, always hedge.

$500-$1,000 on the money line for Seattle should do the trick.

Or some of it on the ML and some taking the points, etc. Don't get greedy and potentially screw yourself out of a G.

I'd personally do a bet for your original bet amount on the seahawks ML. Therefore you'll have a profit even though I think Steelers win this myself.

The hedge is probably the safe thing to do with the ML and PS but personally if I was in your shoes and with that bet I really wish I was...I would ride out the original bet and wait for the fireworks...lets us know what you decide to do and good luck!

Made the same wager in October at 10/1. 250 to make 2500. (Before being given credit for intelligence, know that I also played Atlanta. But, I digress.) I've taken Seattle +4 for 1150. Now, I either make 900 (Seattle wins), 1235 (Pittsburgh covers), or 3650 (Pittsburgh wins but Seattle covers). Nice chance for a middle that just happens also to be a hedge.

I couldn't resist what I found...I took Seattle +6 for a few(got it from a local in WV about an hour from the Burgh)...figured that would be the best I could get, or at least wanted to lock in the nice spread like that.

Hedge.......always protect your money. This is the NFL and as we all know........... ANYTHING can happen.

Why take the chance of coming away with nothing ??

Looks like a good hedge.
You might check the halftime lines too. You can get a feel for how the game is going and the halftime line might give you a wider spread for a middle.
