Cmon guys,whats with all the fuss. You all know that ND is the most highly toughted football program in the country.They get all the attention and all you ever hear about is when ND comes to play your team. Never the other way. I guess if ND took all the rejects that can't even graduate from high school then they would always be a powerhouse but, they instead take players that will actually graduate from college,and can speak in sentences. How many of you can say that their programs have enough talent to make it to a bowl game every year and then graduate 98% of their class with honors.? ND is not all about sports to the kids that go to that college,it's the public that's all about ND.. :mj05:

They dont graduate 98% much less with honors. They certianly have higher academic standards and do well, but the post is pure hyperbole.
Moreover, and I have been looking for confirmation, I have recently read that ND is giving Weis exceptions to the academic requirements.

People hate ND because of their hallmark as the greatest ncaa football team of all time. The fact that ND grads actually have a degree from one of our nation's finest academic institutes complements that reputation quite well.

Lets cut through the hearsay from fellas like you who believe every POST they read instead of looking for facts. I went to school there. Do athletes have classes just for them, and are certain exceptions made for athletes as far as admissions? Yes, all is true. That is NOT new at ND, or unique to the Weis era. ALL PROGRAMS do that. The difference is, when ND gives an admission break to a football player, the student has a 1250 on his SATS instead of the usual requirement of almost 1400. When you get a break at, lets say University of Texas, that break is from an SAT score of 1000 to players that probably dont even take the test, or get below 800.
Still results in a higher standard OVERALL relative to other schools, even if that standard is slightly diluted compared to ND's student body
And YEAH ND does have a 98% graduation rate, including athletes. No comment on the "with honors" part. :mj05:

Excuse for what? Your team has a great history. They havent done shit for many years. This great year was 3 losses. And they are still behind my school in recruiting.

I dont know what I"M talkin about? You commented on ND's graduation rate, which you dont know jack about, and how athletes get treated at ND. So its possible for you to know how athletes get treated at ND, but I "have no idea" what happens at Texas?? I, unlike you, actually WENT to one of the schools and have a leg to stand on. You just have too much time to read BS on the internet that is untrue.

ND changed their early admission policy for Weis. Incoming freshman now can enroll a semester early and join spring practice.
I have heard, but it's far from documented that Weis has been given two academic exemptions for incoming freshman. Like I said it's only a rumor... May or may not be true.

The final numbers I gave you, 8 to 5 are based on AP AND UPI titles since 1936. The AP began in '36 and the UPI in '50 as you said, simply meaning the AP was the sole source of champions for the 14 years before the UPI came along. All of ND's titles between 36-50 were AP only titles, I wasnt counting the NFF or whatever other sources you used to give OSU 7 total. Thats why like I said, if you include those, ND would have 11 and OSU 7 since '36. I dont count before '36, if I did, ND would have like 13 or 14, I'm not really sure. My point was basically that whatever system or count you use, ND has more than any other program.
You're right, and we always go back and forth on this, OSU has got the best of ND lately but I have pride in the program, and the people constantly bashing ND need to be reminded that ND had a big hand in making college football the national past time it is today.
