socrstud said:how would you say it better than Glenn....... Honestly I think Indy had a pretty decent Sched....Bears not sooo much....and I credit teams for what they have acheived....a win is a win no matter what and that is all I would care about....however, If you think about teams that have very good records but all of a sudden play a team with a decent record but have been playing against rediculous competition its a whole differernt story.....
Carolina mediocre....Washington good D, no offense....
Seattle will definately get to try to prove what they want today.....
But I would hate to put a bet on a team that hasn't played 1 team in the top 10 during the regular seasaon and expect them to beat a very good....yes I said very good deffensive and offensive squad that can be deadly if they put points on the board first against you......... I just couldn't do it, it makes no sense,
Tell me Glenn you put Pitt with the same schedule, would they be still searchin for the wild card? I'll answer that for you NO WAY!
Well, I suppose it's good that you're so confident about your bet. I just always get the sense that when people put tons of posts on here about how confident they are about their bet they are trying to convince themselves that they're on the right side.
The weak schedule thing has been mentioned to death on this site. If you're honestly handicapping this game simply based on strength of schedule, I think you might be in trouble. I don't deny that Pitt has been on a roll lately. They've played very well. But this is also the team that barely made the playoffs. Yes, they had a tougher road than Seattle, but nothing about Pitt has me completely amazed like it has some people. Out of the 6 teams that were in the AFC playoffs the only team I would rather be playing if I were the Seahawks is Cincy.
As for Seattle, weak schedule or not they have won 13 of their last 14. The one loss coming against GB when they rested their starters. And in their 18 games this year they have only been outplayed ONE time, week 1 at Jacksonville. Yes they also lost to Washington on the road, but they beat themselves as much as Washington beat them in that one.
It's funny how so many people on this site had Carolina beating Seattle, but once Seattle beat them Carolina magically became a mediocre team. Weird how that works. Like I've said before, Seattle won't get any respect because they have had a history of being a bad team. Well, they're not bad this year.
I could post stats like Seattle having the #2 red zone defense in the NFL, the #4 run defense in the NFL, the #1 offense in the NFL, a QB with the best December passer rating in the history of the NFL, etc., but somehow I don't think it will matter. The game has already been decided because Seattle had a weak schedule, right?
