I am a computer consultant and all I sell to my clients are HP.

I'd get a business class machine even though it is for your home.

I know Dell and the other low cost machines will be tempting but don't do it.

We have 3 computers in the house dell xp 600, hp m7300y & a sony vaio

never a problem with any of them

if money is a issue go with the dell you can get more computer for your money

Nothing major just something new..
because I've had HPs all my life. They got boring (appearance wise)
Great to hand off to the kids.

I bought Sony... pricer, but a very nice appearance
Unless something happens in the future I'll stick with Sonys.
