This is really getting to my wallet now. My SUV gets about 14 miles per gallon & only takes "SUPER" It cost damn near $100 to fill up my tank now.

Is there any end in site? I cant afford this if it gets much higher $5/a gallon & I am done drivin

well the funny thing is that the gov has given out huge amounts of money to farmers to grow ethanol. but at the same time it cost $$$ to ship this shit which is based by fuel prices and how long will ethanol stay at a moderate price? it is currently around 2.00 a gallon. doesnt seem to cheap to me. of course it is cheaper than regular gas but once demand rises for this product the gouging will start to occur.

3 seconds,

The arrogance of power is out of control. It's only a matter of time and I'm trying to make preparations. I'm buying both the Seinfeld and Rocky & Bullwinkle DVD Collection plus I'm loadin' up on beans and wieners. I'm also goin' to Bible Study.

Seriously man this is going to cause some drastic changes.

I mean it really is soon to become cost efficient to quit my job that I commute 40 mins each way to & sell my SUV & my 'hobby' car & find a job I can ride a bike to......could it really be that different when I profit from the sales of my cars & the $$ I will save in petrol cost & insurance costs, not to mention registration & inspection & all that other crap.

Either that or I will just move into the city where I definatley wont need a car.

Hell I have a bar with-in walking distance now

:mj23:

Plus I will recieve the health benefits of getting much more excersise.

I don't think we're seeing / hearing the worst of what is going on. Things on the surface still seem fairly calm. But I surely agree with you...when things begin to change, it's likely to be swift and for many folks, very unpleasant.

Don't like it either--maybe can put small :) on a few faces with putting things in perspective. Despite oil rising to all time highs 3 days in a row--which would normally be doom and gloom on market has not slowed sentiment in robust economy.
Inflation in check --interest rates lowests in decades.
Mortgage on $100,000 loan $204 less a month than 10 years ago-
taxes less--
and considering price in other countries things could be worse.

speaking for myself i don't care what other countries are paying for gas....

i think this is a clear case of price gauging....

$3.049 when I left work, within a mile $2.899, low grade, gassed up. I'm within 2 miles from where I live and work...once I pay $3.00 or more (again) I'm riding my bike (3 speed pedal power) to and from work if the sun is shining

I agree somewhat AR.
With record profits one would assume that they could cut price and do without excess profits.
--flip side Federal Trade Commission and several other agencies been investigating since Katrina and have not uncovered anything YET!

However its makes me somewhat skeptical when person over seeing FTC investigation (Deborah Majoras) prior job was attorney for-----CHEVRON!!!!!!!!!!!
