not a very good joke, but i guess as long as you are "anywhere in AMERICA" that kind of ethnocentric thinking will persist

i donate at least 10% of my salary and over 10% of my betting winnings to starving children around the world

maybe if more people did the same it would be a better world...... and there wouldn't be ugly pictures like this to look at :shrug:

i also grew up hosting ethiopians in my home when they could not live in ethiopia because of the civil war so it is a little more personal

personally the picture makes me quite sad and i could not muster up a chuckle

That's great Hippo, and I get exactly where you are coming from, sponsored kids through World Vision myself, but I really don't think the original poster was laughing at the starving kids.

I am usually leading the charge againts tasteless jokes at someone who is unfortunate, but like I said, I don't think any harm was meant here.
