I have a recipe for margaritas that I want to try. What is the best tequila to use?

Could you put the approximate price of the brand too?

Thank you,

Anything more expensive then Cuervo is a waste. If you are drinking them on the rocks, I would stick with Jose Cuervo. If you are sipping Tequila than I would spring for a better brand.

I agree as well...a bottle will run you around 20 bucks or so, usually low 20s.

If you want sipping tequila I'm partial to Don Julio...smooth as it comes to me.

only $1700 dollars a bottle. somewhat pricey, but essential before any night on the town.

Here
Use the 1800 REPOSADO it makes a smoother margarita you will pay about $6 bucks more. No need to buy a anejo tequila unless you plan on doing shots.

saint ...that would require rimming the entry point with salt and another non - descip lubricant of somesort (possibly lime juice) to enjoy the total satisfaction i would think......

you might be on to something for marketing the product though.

Barrique de Ponciano Porfidio 1L "visual display people dept" might have fun and run with it!

apparently they do things differently in North Carolina. you see Saint, when you roll with BDB on the A-list carpets of LA, you want your groove on with nothing but the finest of the blue agave persuasion. BDB doesn't do cuervo and he doesn't roll with any bottle priced less than a dime. BDB has ladies on his side because of the Barrique Porfido. it's not only a good tequila at a fair price, but it's a lifestyle. hope this helps.

cool that

BDB, this doesn't have anything to do with the lyrics of *Tequilla Makes Her Clothes Fall Off* lyrics, does it??? ;)

IE,

even in guam I suppose.

but alas, BDB isn't an A-lister. Just a poor sap trying to make it day by day.

perhaps i can be an A-lister one day. but i suppose that i should try and be a C-lister first.

I agree with the theroy that says Curevo is "good enough" any more and it is wasted with the sour mix. CAVEAT: if you are making true ritas with just limes and sugar cane the good stuff does make a difference.

The big difference in Ritas (that use sour mix) is the Triple Sec. Instead of triple sec, use Cointreau
