Good answer Chadman. WE pay our taxes without complaint and are thankful for the benefits we enjoy living in America. My complaint is that by giving tax breaks to the most wealthy among us does nothing for the economy.
I know people who are among the top 5% in the country. Unlike Dr. and Mrs. Freeze they are not waiting for the government check to come in so they can buy the new refrigerator or what ever. If you give the tax break to the Middle-class and down that put money back into the economy.
In the '60's when JFK cut taxes and even when Reagan did it there was a reason as the top money earners where taxed at a high rate. That is not the case anymore.

OMG stevie and chadman, you two are the poster people for the liberal nonsense about tax cuts, that it only benefits the rich. No wonder they pander to such ignorance.

If you pay more in taxes by making more money aka rich people you will naturally get more back it's that simple. You can't get back more money than you pay in, unbelievable concept to grasp, not for most people.

And steveid you have to be the most ignorant of all. Who do you think gives jobs to people and keeps the economy running, not poor people you idiot and especially not the Govt like you seem to think, MY GOD HOW IDIOTIC ARE YOU LIBERALS?? :scared

Well, if this isn't the most ridiculous lecture I've ever received, I don't know what is. It's really amazing when people blast others when they don't bother to actually try to UNDERSTAND what the other person is posting. And you say I don't understand concepts?!?

Slow down and use your finger on the screen to follow along. I didn't say I only thought the rich benefit from tax cuts. I said I was against these particular ones for the reasons I laid out. Don't put words in my posts, and then ridicule me for the BS you post.

Tax refunds are based on what your tax obligation is based on the rates and your individual situations - and what you have had taken out of your income and/or have paid in throughout the year or at tax time. Other factors like deductions, investments, charities, etc., are factored in to get to the final tally. The amount of money you get back is based on what your "owe" and what you "pay". Not how much you make, and how much you get back. How many people at tax time are screaming about having to pay their taxes? You don't get a bigger refund because you make more money. I can only hope you realize that and were just posting a mixed-up attack at me (which I assume is true). If not...I want to be your accountant...talk about easy money.

You attack Stevie for being ignorant. And then you post one of the most ignorant comments I've ever seen. I believe the U.S. Government is the top employer in this country, isn't it? You say the Government doesn't employ people?!? Just the rich people? And you say Stevie is ignorant?!? Our TAX dollars pay for the Government, which in turn employs more people than any other business (there may be a handful around that employ more...I didn't Google it...), so your ignorant attack was really insightful.

I hope you continue to try to make fun of other people, and especially liberals. You are a shining example of Conservative logic and intelligence, ctown. I'd expect Wayne and a few other to start sending you PM's begging you to stop posting pretty soon.

Omg chadman you are truly a liberal talking head.

Your paragraph starting with tax refunds is the typical gobble gook spewed out by you nuts. It's worthless trying to debate with you brainwashed liberals.

And second yes the gov does employ thousands of people and that is part of the problem as most of these bureaucratic jobs are just another form of welfare in this country and contributes to the colossal bureaucratic mess we are in. And all these jobs are paid for by tax dollars not like jobs created by the business and entrepreneurs.

Unbelievable left wing hogwash in everyone of your political posts, you and stenie should run for office, you would go down in defeat like carter, humphrey, and that other peacenik lib from the 60's or seventies can't think of his name, all of which were some of the biggest landslide losses in history.

Ctownguy, I get the feeling that you do not agree with me. So I will give you another chance. I will try to explain it so even you can understand. It is true that Rich people spend money. I don't think that any of them spend more money because they get a tax refund check because these people are not saving up to buy a new tv or a stove or whatever they may need. Because they are rich, they have the money to buy the IPOD they want.
A middle-class or poor person does save to buy these items. When a tax refund check comes in they usually go out and buy the item. That puts more money in the economy and everybody benefits. You undersand?

You give tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans then they reinvest these savings thereby creating jobs in India. Cheez what a bunch of morons you liberals are!!!

I'd imagine that it must be getting more and more difficult over the past few years to determine exactly how much money these wealthy job-creators put in their offshore bank accounts and how much they spend on outsourced tech departments in India. Unless, of course, they are hiring illegal aliens to "stay competitive." Then, that adds even more stress to their burdensome lives. How can they possibly continue to increase their incomes at these never-before-seen rates with all of this attention on them?!? I mean, for crying out loud...look at all the people Kenneth Lay and Jeffrey Skilling put to work. Think of how much struggle Kenny-boy will have to go through until Bush pardons him on his way out the door. (There you go, Dogs...an open invitation to join the thread with a Clinton pardon zinger...I try to help you out wherever I can...) Thank God those guys, and others like them, continue to try to help all Americans with their businesses.

Why don't some of you conservative tax-cutting proponents start railing against these high-income job creators that ship jobs overseas, set up their corporate businesses offshore to avoid taxes, and ask questions about corporate fraud and waste in places like Iraq and Katrina-affected areas? No, you would rather just say what great things wealthy business owners do for our economy. Not all are good, not all are bad. Both sides of this issue have some value and good points. But you guys allow for NOTHING negative when it comes to taxes and very little when it comes to Bush and conservative theory.

Freeze, you must be very happy with Bush and the Congress considering how good you think things are going.
Eddie, sorry but this ignorant thing just comes naturally to me. I take is as somewhat of an honor in the face of Conservatives.

Yep, thank God we ship those undesireable high tech positions to Punjab so we can open up the WalMart greeter jobs for our seniors here. Gotta keep them outta the casinos.
