YANKEES +125
TIGERS -135

Tonight, the Yankees attempt to sweep the Tigers, the best team in baseball, in their own ballpark. Wang (5-2, 4.50) opposes young phenom Verlander (7-3, 2.55). It should be an entertaining game to watch! Who you got in this one? Submit your pick up until 6:55 EST.

Tough game to call IMO. Verlander is awesome. Everytime I watch him pitch, I become more impressed. However, tonight he faces arguably the scariest lineup in baseball. Interesting to see how the rookie performs against some future hall of famers. Great game to watch and tough game to wager IMO.

Yankees have won 5 straight and Tigers have lost 4 in a row.

a check of Evil Empire lineup is a must...

If Shef.309 and Dam.282 in lineup w/Jet .338 and ARod.303 and Posada.304 and Jason G.272 and Cano.293 it will be BY FAR the most awesome lineup this young man has ever faced in a MLB game...
Top it all off...He has never ever faced a single player on the Yankee roster in a regular season or post season game...

tigers look like shit, no bats the last 4 games

maybe they're just a mediocre team that was hot against chumps (kc)?

i don't know they look lifeless. if anyone can get it done tonight it'd be Verlander,he's a bad ass. But can they hit Wang Chung?? Doubtful

I am backing the Tigers -136 tonight. Verlander is the real deal and Detroit will try very hard to avoide the sweep. Wang is nothing special IMO.

i found it interesting that posada said that wang has the best "stuff" (insert wang/stuff joke here) of any pitcher he has ever caught. needless to say, thats really saying something. makes you wonder how this guy has an ERA near 5 if true.

I like Det but not sure I will put more than pizza money on them. Sheff and Damon should be out. Posada is hurt. 4 game series is tuff to sweep on the road. Torree might even rest anyone he can already haven taken the series. Det mgr might feel the urgency and do whatever it takes to get that extra run. Verlander is the bomb and wang is so far slightly above ave. I think too many people are weighing recent performace too heavily and discounting season performance: Det has played better overall, or at least their equal. No reason to all the sudden think they are not a good team because they lost three in a row. Their slgihtly better than average pitching got exposed in matchups that were all favorable for the yanks, but tonight this is not the case.

I'm passing, but I would have to say DET here at home to avoid the sweep with their HOT young gun on the hill. I picked up Verlander in fantasy about 4 weeks ago and he's been my hidden "gem" so far......

Both pictures are impressive.
Tigers are absolutely no bats recently, they are in a slump.
Yanks @+125 is my pick.
Tigers swept at home is not impossible.
