Auburn overrated

Aub is really not overrated. SEC road games are tough, unless you are playing MISS st or OLE MISS. Spurrier is a genius and is starting to get some talent

he's right, Auburn is not overrated and I think all of you know that Spurrier is a great coach and can come up with some amazing game plans.

the only way Auburn looses this season is if some how, some way, we game plan that ass at our house, because they'll wipe the floor with the rest of their schedule

Auburn is very good overall. Cox is an underrated quarterback, Irons is a punishing runner, and the receivers are as skilled as any group in the SEC. The Tigers' kicking game (Vaughn, Bliss) might be the best I've seen so far this season. Auburn's weakness is its defense. I never thought I would say that about Auburn, but it's true. The Tigers don't have closing speed. They looked a step slower than South Carolina's offense for most of the game last night. The Cocks' quarterback is quick, but a fast defense would've been able to contain him better than Auburn did. SEC teams have long been known for having speed at every position. I just didn't see it last night from Auburn.

The thing I keep coming back to with Auburn is, if this team is so good, how the hell did they get pimp slapped by Wisci in the Citrus last year?

there are no "great" teams this year

ohio state
auburn
sc

wvu
mich
lsu
texas
oregon
nd

very little difference in any of the teams listed above but the top three are probably slightly better than the rest (but auburn isnt as good as their team 3 years ago, sc isnt as good as last years team and osu might not be as good as they were to end last year)

no standout team/s this year in my opinion

My Top Ten:

1. Ohio State
2. USC
3. LSU
4. Texas
5. Michigan
6. Auburn
7. Florida
8. Notre Dame
9. West Virginia
10. Virginia Tech

Louisville w/out Bush and Brohm are not Top Ten IMO. With Brohm I would have them around 6 or 7. I wasn't impressed w/them @ KSU (although they did cover). I'm interested to see others Top Ten. Mine is based on who I would bet on on a neutral site

lsu is not beating florida at a neutral site.
they're not going to be auburn at a neutral site either.

otherwise, i think thats actually a pretty good list. though vtech is a phony top 10 team. florida state would beat them on a neutral field.

people shouldn't underestimate michigan....i think they have one of most balanced teams in the country.

although i thought that ohio st. at the end of the year was the best team in the country, i don't think they are at this point. i think a well balanced offense will be able to move the ball on them. however i do think they have one of the best offenses in football.

imo the best 2 balanced teams in the country at this point are....mich. & fla....

we'll know more about how good fla. is in the next few weeks....& btw, they will beat bama by at least 3 tds on saturday.

good luck.

i will offer this caveat:
im not concerned with current records or who beat who or by what score. on a neutral field, this would be it:

1) southern cal
2) ohio state
3) auburn
4) texas
5) florida
6) lsu
7) michigan
8) notre dame
9) louisville
10) florida state

the next 'tier' would be west virginia, cal , clemson, vtech, and georgia. there's a precipitous dropoff after 15 imo.

Here is how I would vote if I had one in the Harris poll:

1) OSU
2) USC
3) Michigan
4) Florida
5) West Virginia
6) Auburn
7) ND
8) Louisville
9) Auburn
10) Oklahoma (I still consider them undefeated)

My basis for ranking would be a blend between what has been accomplished already, and who I think would be who in a neutral setting.

I also want to qualify my Auburn/LSU ranks by saying the last two times I've watched them play were vs Wisci in the bowl game, and last night. Not sure what all the fuss is about that defense. And how the hell did LSU score just 3 on them?

I'd take Michigan over Auburn on a neutral field. Wouldn't think twice about it.

:iagree:

auburn is very good, but michigan is very very good :yup

I can't believe that some of you are ragging on auburn for last night's performance. yeah, they weren't stellar, but alot of that had to do with being on the road in the SEC playing against a good USC team in my opinion

I wasn't surprised at all by last nights result, and I kinda think USC could've and maybe should've won that game

INT in the endzone for auburn and that surprise onside kick for the tigers enabled them to score another touchdown if I recall correctly. Syvelle Newton was tremendous last night and as someone mentioned earlier, Auburn probably wasn't prepared for that kind of a duel threat QB coming out of a Spurrier offense

just a thought

LSU should take it to FLA in Gainesville in a couple of weeks. The Aub loss was a poor effort on the road. Referees did not help, but neither did Russel's decisions late in the game. If LSU would have opened up the passing game in the 2H, I think they would have pulled away.

I'm curious, how much of the LSU--AUB game did you watch?
