Northern Star out of curiousity have you not followed baseball since 1996? Epic reality check, Kenny Rogers is the worst post season pitcher who has ever lived.

POSTSEASON PITCHING STATS
0-3 8.85 ERA 20IP 32H 20ER 16BB

His ERA is the highest of all time for any pitcher with a minimum of 5 post season starts. He is also 0-7 with a 9.21 ERA in his last 11 starts against Yanks. Johnson is no prize everyone knows that plus he's hurt, but with this Yankee lineup which led MLB in runs and who slaughters LHP, to say the Tigers have a pitching edge with Kenny Rogers on the mound is insanity.

I was way off, I thought the Yankees might actually score!!!:mj07: :mj07:

I was right about Randy Johnson, what was his era tonight 9.0?

Maybe I should start watching baseball so I can learn about baseball like you.

I just learned there are nine innings in a game unless the home team is kicking ass then they only play 8 and 1/2 innings.

Hey Moe, I think I was closer with my prediction tonight, I thought the Tigers would put up 7 and they only made it to 6. Rogers shut down the Yankees so the 5 spot predicition was way off. Didn't get to see any of the game as I took the kids to the homecoming football game.

You want to try again saturday?

Worst playoff pitcher ever, yes I'm serious. Anyone who is a Yankee fan certainly remembers 1996.

ROGERS 1996 POST SEASON STATS

0-0 14.14 ERA 4G 3GS 7IP 15H 11ER 6BB

Pretty hard to do much worse than 7 total innings pitched in 3 starts.

Impressive with the Mets as well.......
ROGERS 1999 POST SEASON STATS

0-3 6.75 ERA 4G 2GS 12IP 16H 9ER 9BB

He's appeared in 9 post season games 5 starts, find me any pitcher in MLB history with a minimum of 5 starts with a worse ERA? Perhaps you are more impressed with his post season WHIP? 50 base runners in 20.1 IP.

So you were initially leaning to the Yanks but after reading my post it has persuaded you to back the worst post season pitcher ever who also happens to meltdown everytime he faces the Yankees? Terrific analysis on your part, going against one of the best lineups in MLB history, who kill LHP.... facing a lefty who has had a major meltdown in every big spot in his life.

Hey tough guy, you respect Rogers now?

By the way the Yankees are not quite done yet, the Tigers can't let up tomorrow vs Wright, because if Jaret has a decent game can go 6, 7 innings, I expect that Yankee offense to get to Bonderman. Don't know if they can hold these guys down 3 straight games, I expect tomorrow's game to be a little more high scoring.

KG what is your problem? Can you not differentiate fact from opinion? What I posted are HIS STATS b4 this game, they didn't come out of thin air.

FACT: Kenny Rogers ERA is the highest of all time for any pitcher with a minimum of 5 post season starts.

FACT: In 96 Playoffs Rogers made 3 starts and never made it out of the 3rd inning.

FACT: In his 9 career playoff appearances Rogers has allowed 20ER and 50 base runners in 20.1 IP.

Those stats came from a sample of 9 appearances 5 of which were starts and you complained that the sample was too small..........yet your basing your OPINION ON 1 START? You see it was your and Northern Stars opinion that the Tigers had a pitching edge tonight, and you were right tonight, but it is a FACT that Rogers previously has been quite possibly the worst big game pitcher of all time. Do you now understand the difference between fact and opinion? I'll give you an example just to help out, an opinion looks something like this............

OPINION: KG5678 has a colossal man crush on Kenny Rogers.

Sometimes numbers aint everything buddy, Rogers was due, look at Glavine last night, no one expected him to pitch that good either.

I said that Rogers was healthy and Randy was not and that Rogers was great at home all year. I didn't say they had a huge pitching advantage based on numbers, like you. You called Rogers a choke job, and it's funny how he just completely dominated the so called best hitting team of all time tonight.

Big Up Rogers!!

Big Up Rogers!!

Detroit stole a page out of Torre's 96 -2000's Handbook!

"Good Pitching always shuts down Good Hitting!!!"

Rogers looked like.... well not like Kenny Rogers!!!

Nobody expected that kind of performance out of Rogers, except for the BOOKIES of course.. They racked it in last night.

Hopefully the Bombers bats come alive against Bonderman.:scared
