I heard Manningham might be done for the year??? If that's the case this will be a huge blow to Michigan.

An update on Mario. Manningham had his knee scoped and cleaned up today. Very minor deal, as knees go. He'll likely be out 2-3 weeks but there's an outside chance he plays vs Iowa a week from Saturday.

Michigan sophomore wide receiver Mario Manningham will miss Saturday's game at Penn State and could miss the entire season, The Detroit News reported on Monday. Manningham is expected to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery Tuesday morning to repair a torn meniscus in his knee.

Redshirt sophomore Adrian Arrington, who has 12 receptions for 195 yards and three touchdowns this season, and fifth-year senior Steve Breaston will have to step up in Manningham's absence, while freshman Greg Mathews and fifth-year senior Carl Tabb will also get an opportunity.

I guess I could buy it back but that goes against my principles of sports wagering once the bet is down.

Making the play early for value, did not work out this time. Thats sports wagering.

I think Michagan is good enough overall to beat Penn St without Mario.

MoneyLine at -270 - Side at -6

Damn Chucky , its been awhile since I seen you around.

I am playing with money I won from last year plus my usual bankroll for football season.

I had a good college baskets season after football, and I stayed away from the NBA as much as possible.

gl to you also.

I agree that Penn State is not nearly as good as they were last season. Not sold on QB Morrelli being "the Man" atleast not yet. Penn States game is to out muscle you in the trenches but noone is outmuscling Michigan this year. Not so far anyway. My two cents. Goodluck

Yeh Mario does not play on defense for Michigan and that is where this game is going to be won.

u got balls of a Great Dame laying that much on the ML just to win 500 in a potential upset game for MICH...like I said before I think your on the right side with this and was just throwing my thoughts out there...good luck

thom

I have to use reverse psysh on myself. To me
500 dollars is alot of money.

I only play for the 500 on plays that I believe have a 90% chance of hitting.

Unfortunately, sometimes when I play the favorites, I have to expose 15% of my bankroll.

One thing good about it, it makes the games very exciting for me.

Best game yet to be played:

Michigan at Ohio State, Nov. 18. If both teams remain undefeated, this game will essentially amount to an NCAA semifinal because the winner almost certainly will advance to the national title game.

I'm definately not saying this PSU team is as good as last years by any means

But at the same time Michigan has loss to worse teams than this PSU team.......

What makes this team different IMO is the style of play and attitude Ron English D Coordinator brings to his players.....Hes the difference maker thats getting the underachieving talent to perform......

They've had their lapses twice already this year, end of the first half of ND and 4th quarter in minny game, but they still righted the ship and got back into attack mode.......

Mich D line should dominate the LOS and cause some miscues from Morelli and control Hunt....

I will be there getting drunk and rooting for Michigan and rooting for JoePa to shit his pants

Michigan Offense vs. Penn State Defense

The most intriguing matchup in this game will be waged between a Michigan ground game that leads the Big Ten (195.7 yards per game) and a Penn State run defense that is giving up just 2.5 yards per carry. The Nittany Lions technically run a base 4-3 defense. However, Tim Shaw, who lined up at linebacker the previous three seasons, frequently lines up in a two-point stance. So it's more of a 3-4 front with one linebacker walked up. The scheme takes advantage of Penn State's depth, speed and talent at outside linebacker. Penn State defensive coordinator Tom Bradley will also walk OLB Sean Lee up to the line of scrimmage at times, effectively giving the Nittany Lions a five-man front. This makes it difficult for offensive linemen to reach LBs Paul Posluszny and Dan Connor, who read their keys well and close quickly. Look for Michigan to get the better of this matchup. First off, the Wolverines' offensive line is strong enough to control the line of scrimmage working against Penn State's front four and that will make it easier to reach the linebackers. Secondly, coordinator Mike DeBord uses motion to create quality blocking angles for his receivers and Michigan will run a fair amount of two tight end sets. The Wolverines should be able to get to Posluszny and Connor when Bradley goes to the five-man front. Thirdly and perhaps most importantly, RB Mike Hart is averaging slightly more than 26 carries per game and the ankle injury he sustained last week isn't believed to be serious. Giving Hart that many carries gives Michigan an excellent opportunity to wear the linebackers down and once they start to slow down they won't be nearly as effective against the run.
................................................................

It seems simple enough.

Once again I see the moneyline drop when the play is to michigan.

The books do this alot these days.

I already got screwed when I made the bet too early.

Now its almost time to sit back, strap myself in ,
and enjoy the ride to 777 Victory Lane.

Michigan is one of the elite teams this year and could possible end up the #2 team.

Penn St was beat by two tough teams in the top 25.

Penn St does not belong in the top 10.

Michigan is much better overall team here.

Michigans defense is going to bring the
wood 2 x 4s.

Michigan wins

Game Summary

STATE COLLEGE, Pa (AP) -- Rondell Biggs flew in off the edge for one of Michigan's seven sacks, then flexed his biceps to celebrate his mighty deed.

The good news for Michigan running back Mike Hart: He never has to face his own defense. It is fast becoming college football fact that the Wolverines' run defense is where tailbacks' Heisman hopes go to die. Michigan has yet to allow a 100-yard rusher (Penn State's Tony Hunt gave it the 'ole college try with 33), and, by holding the Nittany Lions to negative yards rushing, lowered its nation-leading numbers against the run (40 yards per game entering Saturday). :142smilie

The Wolverines' defense provided plenty of muscle, Adrian Arrington and Mike Hart each scored a touchdown and Michigan stayed unbeaten with a 17-10 win on Saturday night.

"Our defense really showed that all year," Wolverines quarterback Chad Henne said. "They played spectacular tonight and they gave us the ball in favorable positions and sometimes we didn't capitalize."

But on Saturday night, the defense grabbed the spotlight, holding Penn State to 186 total yards. The Lions finished with minus-14 rushing yards, with much of the negative yardage coming on sacks

Michigan's front seven was too tough and fast for Penn State (4-3, 2-2), getting into the backfield often to pressure or sack Nittany Lions starting quarterback Anthony Morelli, who was knocked out early in the third quarter after what appeared to be a helmet-to-helmet hit from Alan Branch.

Branch, defensive end LaMarr Woodley and their fellow linemen had a field day, holding the tough Hunt in check on the ground and blanketing the Lions' fast receiving corps.

Seven Michigan defenders were in on sacks, led by Woodley's 2? and two by Biggs.

With Manningham out, Arrington stepped up, slipping out of the reach of freshman cornerback A.J. Wallace to grab a pass from Henne down the left seam and run in the end zone for 25-yard touchdown to give the Wolverines a 7-0 lead in the second quarter.
