This guy is the goods. Has to worth more than 1/2 point, or even 1 point.

His absence shortens the field quite a bit. Maybe Posluzny has a bigger impact on the game w/o field stretcher.

Penn St suddenly looks a lot better to me on Sat. Agreed?

geez, when will they learn? Copy and Paste

The guy isn't even that great...and yes, I know all the stats but IMO his numbers are a direct result in playing teams with NO defense...and don't give me Wiscy because they haven't any competition this season other than MICH...

Manningham's over-rated the guy drops passes...you MICH fans need to quit acting like this guy is the second coming of Desmond Howard...

Not referring to CWood but you have some of these Mich fans act like Manningham is a world beater...when actually Antonio Bass is going to be the stud WR for MICH down the road...Manningham has talent and has quite an upside only being a SOPH...but he does drop catch-able balls and I think his numbers have benefited from poor defenses giving up the big pass down field...he's just not that big of a loss IMO...Mich is a good team and will be just fine without Manningham...

I do like PSU +7 though...but this isn't Super Mario by any means...

Depends on what Mich D comes to play sat....

Manningham is a big loss when it comes to the big play, but Mich should and can be methodical on driving down the field.....and Adrian Arrington is still a nice red zone target....

Stevey Breaston can still shorten the field for the Wolves on KRs and PRs

either way with manningham or not, I still thought it was going to be a close game

Yeah, dude was on pace for 18 TD's and 1000 yds in a run first offense. He is no big deal:mj07:

only if their playing the likes of Vanderbilt every game...we'll see what he does against a team that acutally has a defense...Scoring three TDs against ND's secondary doesn't make him a All-American...:142smilie

Brilliant response. Yep, UM's 26th ranked schedule sure has been a joke.

That ranking would be for a 12-game season, right? I highly doubt that those first six is worth a 26th rank...

Vanderbilt (2-4)
C. Mich (3-3)
ND (5-1) their secondary is awesome
Minny (2-4)
Wiscy (5-1) their five wins are laughable
MSU (3-3) known for their great defense this season
:mj07:

now that's your joke...you got a real list of defensive power houses there...

As I've said before his numbers are a direct result from bad defensive teams...he's not a huge loss for this team...Mich will be just fine without him...I'm sure after the Ball State game you'll want to put him on the Heisman ballot...

You win. Manningham is pedestrian, he's just benefited from a soft schedule (which has, so far, been ranked 26 in the country by Sagarin). I just hope he's good enough to catch a ball or two against the mighty buckeyes.

:nono:....So glad this one gets settled on the field...I am willing to put up a cap bet that MM doesn't hit his current 87 YPG against OSU...

I'm not saying that he is a bum...my whole point which you keep missing is that this injury isn't that big of a loss to a team that has a great defense with plenty of other weapons on offense...geeez...

and don't make me sound like the biased OSU fan because I'm not...I've given great props and respect to MICH this year and the fact remains that MICH won't lose a single game this season based on how MM plays...

CWood - How is Michigan's TE and how much do the Wolverines utilize him?.....one thing that I have noticed w/ Penn State this year is their weakness over the middle in pass defense. I think the Lion's young CBs have done well, but Carlson and Spaeth were the leading receivers for Notre Dame and Minnesota, respectively and it seems like the middle of the field has been wide open for opponents this year vs the Lions.

The #1 TE Ecker is a solid threat but he is doubtful with an ankle injury. Mike Massey is the backup and isn't a huge drop off from Ecker, but is young (RS Soph). An intiguing option for Debord over the middle is 3rd TE RS frosh Carson Butler, a 6'4" 240 lb specimen who runs in the mid 4.5's and is reportedly a very good receiver. He has been in the dog house, but this may be the week they bust him out. This year the offense is all about "taking what is given" so if Penn St gives up the short middle they will likely use it.

manningham is huge to mich, regardless of how "good" he really is or what poor competition he has played - that debate can go on about just about anyone except jerry rice.

however, mich looks dominant this year and i guess i will fall into the 7 or less trap. i think penn st is no better than wisky and mich beat them by 2td's after starting the game poorly. jmo

Your right CWood, I stand corrected...Cowherd just said how important he is; 40% of their offense...okay I'm willing to listen to reasoning...he's a big play guy and I will back down on this discussion...but I've emailed Cowherd my argument...let's see if I make it on the radio...he'll probably trash me...

Cwood I owe you a beer if you are able to make it to Columbus for the game..

Wolves

Wolves

The BCS ratings come out this Sunday.
Do you really think that the Wolves won't cover this number. 6 is out there.

Best Wishes
