This was the reply I sent to Dan Wetzel on his article.
I just finished reading your article on the Confederate Flag. The media can create more problems by creating an issue that is not really a issue. Lets face it the flag stands for different things for different people. It does not have to be a sign of being a racist. Did you think to go ask the people that where flying the flags why they where flying them?
Why did you want the drivers to be the only ones to sound off about it?

I have seen African Americans wearing a confederate flag shirt and flying the confederate flag. Are they wrong for doing that? Are they being racist?

The next thing we know someone in the media will be creating a issue out of a public prayer being done before the race starts. They will say that it might offend the fans that are non-believers. Then what about the fact that there are alcoholic beverages being sold at the race. It might offend people who don?t drink. The list can go on and on.

Some people in the media create problems. That is what they want to do so they can have something to write about

They already tried. I think NASCAR has stuck to its guns for good reason on this.

I also think the Confederate flag is a non-issue. I know some people fly it for the wrong reason, but the flag itself stands for a lot of history that shaped this country.

The people that have a problem with this are more than likely the same people that think the Civil War was about slavery.

Wow, I just learned something, I always thought it was dumb hicks who still couldn't get over losing a war they didn't even fight in.

I'll never look at a pick up truck the same way!

Man, I sure would like to see some evidence to support this claim! I have lived in the South all of my life and never have seen such a thing.

Always wondered why people thought you were a prick, but I guess I had never been on the other end of your snide remarks before.

People in the South flying the Confederate Flag would be EXACTLY the same thing as Germany or people of German descent flying swastika flags. I don't know how anyone could see it any differently. It's heritage, right?

By the way Dawg, not to start trouble with you simply becasue I really don't have a problem with you, but at least up here in the North you usually see a confederate flag in the back of a pick up truck that also has a bumber sticker that says either:

"Lee surrendered I didn't" or

"The South is gonna rise again"

Tough for us Yankees not to see it any other way.

Abraham Lincoln once said that "If you're a racist, I will attack you with the North" and these are the principles I carry with me in the workplace.

And if you don't think the South has risen again, you haven't seen an election grid. Sure, we got a tax receipts for some tobacco and cotton sales for 100 years, but given the present state of affairs, do you think the Union won?

I saw one today that I had never seen before. It was in such small print that I almost hit her at the light trying to read it.

'If you're going to ride my ass, at least pull my hair.'

Pure class, I tell ya.

If it doesnt represent hate, why would the American Nazi Confederation use it in their flag??
