Air Force -6.5 over Army ***** strong play
Where do i start. How about the AF Flyboys flying over West Point all week at a low altitude. On monday an F-15 flew low over the academy. Then on Tues a huge C-5A,wed a B-52,today a B-2 stealth bomber,an A-10 and tomr during parade time 6 helicpters are going to fly by.The Zommies are coming.
This game is for the CIC trophy. It should be called the "bangup" bowl. Both teams are hurting with injuries. AF has lost almost there entire def line. They have very little depth left and are starting 2 freshman.Army after giving up 586 yds on sat to Tulane lose there 2 top def players.Campbell there best tackler, hitter, and leader is out. This is a huge loss.Lyr vs AF he had 21 tackles coming up stoping there run.Craig there DL is another big blow. This team gave up just under 600 yds last week and now have lost there 2 best players...ouch...Army finally benched Pevoto and Frosh Williams came off the bench and threw 3 tds but 2 ints. He's learning and has an arm.Army has no running game...OL is weak.
But its the defense that has really fell apart.
AF has had an up and down season.Lost to Tenn 31-30.But haven't put it all together.Carney is a solid QB. Strong arm, runs the flexbone, wishbone, whatever you want to call it.Has some good backs to run the option.OL has vets and I think they control the ball and clock all nite. They throw and run well. They haven't scored like the old days but against this Army defense I think they can dominate.Kendrick,Suder and Williams will get the ball.Carney will spread it around. They run those slotbacks, crossing patterns,..everyone is a threat.AF defense is much quicker then Armys..secondary are aggressive..Think AF can put presure on Army frosh qb..With a weak running game Army will be forced to pass.
AF lost to BYU last week, have not scored in the red zone. They haven't had that breakout game.Lyr Army upset AF in colorado. It was the 1st time in 28 yrs.Revenge is a factor tomr nite.
But Bobby Ross's biggest problem is preparing to play the "wish".It's a short week.so many variables and scenarios...and missing Campbell...there run stopper...Team is really down..of course its AF so its a big rival game...but the "grunts" were really beaten bad down in Louisana on sat.. they gave up 35 1st downs and only once did Tulane have a 3 and out and that was in the 4th qrt. .And have 3-4 days prepare for the zommies...
AF wins this 35-7....
Although AF has been flying its planes over the Point akk week....The Army USMA parachute team will deliver the ball on the 50 before game time. Hope the AF doesn't have its helicopters near these guys...

Good luck ..Did OK last week.. sorry about Rutgers-UConn...Brown comes out of nowhere and gains 200 yds.Teel the RU qb is so bad..Will have a few more for saturday

add another stat
"Army leads the nation with 26 giveaways (16 interceptions and 10 fumbles) and is ranked 116th nationally (out of 119 teams) in turnover margin at minus-1.22." Peveto has half of thoses..

Thanks for the write-up Box. On the zommies.

Excuse the ignorance, but are why they nicknamed the zommies?

Excellent write up Box and One.

Going to take Air Force for a nickel as you have studied this game more than anyone else.

I think a lot of action will be placed on Army because everyone has seen how poorly Air Force has played lately.

"SOLD!" Wow, great write up. I'm on the Falcons for sure. With all of the injuries on both d's I may play a little on the over as well.

Air force -5 over Army... ******
Line dropped from -6.5 to -5. Thats fine with me.
I think the line dropped because AF has more injuries then army. Both teams have been hit hard.Ross said today"this game could be survival of the fittest". The loss of Campbell I think hurts the most. He's there 'bread and butter" on D.DE Craig is listed doubtful. These 2 are Armys top players.
The biggest stat is ....AF is ranked 3rd in the nation in rushing avg 266 yds per game.Army ranks 107th in the nation in rushing defense. And lets not forget Tulane gained 586 yds vs this Army offense.
Williams replaces Peveto at Qb.He did a nice job vs tulane but again...he's a puppy. AF has carney a solid vet Qb.Deberry will put mucho pressure on Williams all nite.Armys rushing attack is not threatning. They can't pound the ball inside.Think the line is low because AF is missing so many players. But the loss of Campbell is really big...maybe on ESPN tonite it won't be a big topic...but on campus its big...
The stealth bomber flew low over the Point today. It was powerful, fast and intimadating.Just like the zommies will be tonite...
Zoomies win this...and cover..AF won 8 in a row until lyr..new streak starts tonite.

Great write up Box. Usually do not normally play a road fav that the public are big on but I am going to give this one a shot for a small wager.

great call

great call

It is very seldom that write up predictions actually come true the way that this one did. Box, I have been on the site for a couple of years and respect your plays and analysis. With you there is no hype, no machine guns etc., just solid reasoned analysis. You don't get enough credit. Thanks for the winner.

In a rush...
Wisky -6.5 over Penn St **** best play today
{Injury to Hill has me scared} Think Wisky defense shuts down Lions.PSU could only score 12 pts vs Purdue defense.Purdue defense let Ind St,Ball St and Miami O score 35,21 and 38.Then penn St beats them 12-0 last week.

Indy +5 over Minny **
Navy -9.5 over Duke **

Kent St -16 over Buffalo ***
They could win this 44-0.Bulls defense has given up 48,31,38,55,42 and 41.Edleman will get more yds passing and rushing then the entire Bulls team.

ECU -4 over UCF ***
Pirates are on a roll. There 4-4 and see a bowl game. this is a must game. They have Tulsa,Marshall and UAB next. win today and beat 2 of 3 and there in.My son is 4-0 capping ECU so I'm going with them today. Pickney to Aundrey Allison..tough duo to stop.

La Tech +1.5 over North Texas **
will come back later..2 bad teams.. you know the score NT wins 10-9 La covers.
Thanks for the comments last nite. AF just dominated.
