These are the people who are trying to destroy this country. You think it's only the unskilled illegals they are trying to bring in? Upper middle class better look out because there's a movement under way to replace you with foreigners. The Repubs want to destroy the middle class in this country and this is just one more step in that direction.

We are constantly battling our competitors over this issue. Many architectural and engineering firms have begun to shop out their drawings to India and Eastern Europe where there are people who will do the work for about a third of what I pay my staff. The problem with that practice is that most states have a requirement that the drawings be prepared "under the direct supervision" of the licensed professional. To date, I have turned in sixteen different companies to the state board for this violation and three of these firms have already had fines accessed.

This is nothing new. Once again it's supply and demand. Not political at all. It's the global economy and we must deal with it, for better or worse.

that`s no excuse.....you can bring `em in legally....the main issue is shutting down the border...NOW!...not citizenship....

to fix a broken pipe, first you turn off the water....that kind of common sense is lost on those in power....f-ck the real citizens...

republicans want cheap labor at the expense of the american worker.....democrats get enough voters to erase the 2 party system...

shut the fricking border!...the problem is,the elites refuse to shut the border....

800 mile fence signed into law...funded....but,it will never be built..it works in israel...it worked in china.....

if walls don`t work, then why do our prisons have them?...

why believe ANYTHING these bureaucrats propose?...they can`t enforce the current laws....much simpler laws.....they are going to up the bureaucracy by 10 fold with this bill...

so,what makes anyone believe that they`ll lift one finger to enforce this new, morass of a bill?....

with extended families,we`re talking 40 to 50 million people...in a very short time frame...never happened before in our history...

hospitals overcrowded....prisons overcrowded... .social programs overextended.....the social security system a shambles.....a new underclass...uneducated..can`t speak the language...will almost assuredly need to go on the dole to live in this society......

80% of the country is against this, per rasmussen....but,the elites don`t care...

and what happens if a solid, but cyclical economy goes south?...as will assuredly eventually happen....with all these new unskilled, uneducated "citizens"?.....

god help us(all due respect to gmro and his nemesis buddy)....

hey watch this episode and realize how easy it is for a u.s proposed fence to get across. Penn and Teller did a great job on this episode.

seems the links were taken down, will try to find the episode somewhere.

here is a good review/summary of the tv episode: http://vallery.net/2007/04/26/review-of-penn-and-teller-bullshit-immigration/

A great quote from one of the comments too:

At the Walmart check out today, I was fourth in line behind a hispanic and two russians. Four customers, three different languages. But fear not, because we all drove japanese automobiles.

I used to think that my job couldn't be outsourced, then I started thinking about exactly what I do. 20, maybe 25% of my job is actually work that couldn't be outsourced. It's a brave new world.
