1. UGA
2. USC Always
3. OSU
4. Mizzou?
5. LSU

Quit putting FLA in next years polls. I'm sorry but they are just Not That Good. Please. Ron Zook built a good team then got beat by Sly Croom and left. Meyer is about as lucky as Miles in inheriting an allstar team

First of all I was not the one bragging about the sec #2 team beating up on another conferences #5 team so dont act like I was the one bragging here. Secondly please look at conference records and explain to me how a 6-2 mich that beat a 6-2 ill. is not the 2nd place team when wisc was 5-3:shrug: I would really like to know..PLEASE

I will continue to brag about Michigan beating Florida because it was a big win.....you are the one using one-sided logic by saying it was #2 vs #5. whats your explanation for Tenn the #2 SEC playing Wisco the #5..I bet you would not consider the Vols the #2 SEC team, would you, but if you went solely by the standings like you are doing to somehow chop down UM's win, then you have to call Tenn #2.

I actually explained in my post why UM was not the #2 team in the big 10. You know, using the same eyes that we all use to properly guage and handicap teams.

If you go by the BCS rankings---which perhaps we should because that is the only way UGA becomes the #2 SEC team and gets a Sugar Bowl bid--you will see that florida is the #3 sec team, ranked 11 the in the nation, ahead of Illinois and Wisco.....UM is not even in the top 25, and if you extrapolated that out, I am sure you would find PSU ahead of the Wolverines too...so to sum, Florida, lost to a big team that was ranked behind Wisco and Illinois and not in the bcs top 25 and, as this long time UM observer has said time and time again, was the worst maize and blue team I have seen.....well, maybe 1984 team could give it a run.

I do not think the big 10 is as good as the SEC, but I do know that UM could play in the SEC every bit as well as your Dawgs do.....their 5-1 bowl record in the SEC the last 10 years proves that, and beating the gayturds this year during an awful season proves something as well. Remember, the UM we have been seeing the last couple of years is down a bit and not as good as it had been from say 1988-2003.

Ageecee, Lawtchan....congrats on your Tigers!! Had a lot of fun watching them this year.....it takes a lot of bounces and a ton of talent to make sure those bounces go your way to win the national title.....well deserved, to be sure!!!

Not to rain on your parade, though, but good luck going onto the Plains and into the Swamp next year......ha ha ha.....i kid, i kid!!!!!

Also, ageecee.....its been a blast hanging in these open threads with you during the year.....you crack me up and I enjoy your insights into the game......bring on the Tenuta era, right!?!?!

Is Tenuta the new DC? Where have i been?

You right we have to go to Auburn and Florida. We will not be good next year like this year. Way too much defense to replace but tons of offense coming back.

What are we going to do till football season next year?

sorry you wasted time posting all that. I am also sorry you feel the need to defend mich so much. I dont care what you or anyone feels mich would do all I wanted was someone to say they were the #2 big ten team as they were. Dice brought it up and I called him on it. No need to defend him or your school. Congrats to mich. on their win. I guess that is the difference, I am not bragging about the #2 sec team beating the #4 big ten team on a down year for said #2 team. If that is what you and dice want to hang your hat on then congradulations and good luck in the future.

So, you wanted an explanation from Dice....didnt get one....and when I step in and try, you say I wasted my time and must have an inferiority complex for defending my team.....do you want a discussion or do you prefer to go unchallenged....cripes, bud, take that issue up with Dice, then.

Never defended UM....acutally said they were terrible....shoot not even ranked......they werent the second best team in the league....again, was Tennessee the second best in the SEC. Whats your take on that. Are you just using standings only for that? I would never consider them the #2 in the SEC, but using your singular logic, I would have to. That was my whole point. Use a broader view as I am sure you do when capping games.

Look, I am an sec convert up here in big 10 country.....but all the major, elite programs would fare well in all the other power leagues.....thats why they're elite programs....UM would win an sec division as often as the other league powers do now; and UGA would win the big 10 as often as UM and OSU do now, which is a ton of times because the competition isnt as good......i've said so many times that the big 10 the last few years is not close to the top 3 leagues in the land, so I dont really feel we are even arguing too many points here.

Just trying to help explain why you cant tear down the UM win by claiming 'no big whoop its #2 vs #5' Perhaps you're bummed that UM has beat Fla more times than UGA in recent years? Sorry, that was low....i take it back.

And, I know who would win in Hockey!!! :142smilie
