GW why do you think congress has a lower approval rating than Bush?.

i`ll take a stab at it and say that "the people" are unhappy with the job they`re doing....i think that`s a safe guess....

my point with the lightbulb joke is that it goes deeper than "bush".....you guys have to get past the "bush" stuff....

did we not just have a bill to cut the "earmarks "bullshit out that was shot down by congress?....

there were republicans involved in that debacle,too....

it`s endemic in our gov`t.....

Gw, People are unhappy with congress because they are unhappy with Bush. This Congess has been a disgrace. But only because they have not crushed Bush.

People that live in glass house shouldn't throw stones.

We've had threads here in past on last fed gas tax increase (Clinton) -- proposed future increased gas tax by Dems--drilling for oil in Anwar and off-shore to reduce oil dependency.

---and those with no prob on gas taxes and not wanting to drill for oil --are the very same that complain weekly about gas prices--what adjective would you use to describe these people-

--and while on topic--if you are in the camp (I'm not) of feds being responsible for subprime fiasco--how do you blame one person--but give the dem majority (who promised to cure all your ills if elected in 06) a free pass?

Do you know, by the most optimistic estimates, how much oil there is in Anwar?

BTW, my grandmothers 90th is in Paducah in June. We can settle this on the golf course.

EARMARKS are Zero nothing to the budget. Less then 10%. And they all ask for them. Now they run for office and say. I'll stop them all like there doing something important. NO CLUE CLUB. The real money is being lost in Iraq. We cant keep running Mc Cain/Bush war at 12 billion a month.

Just you saying and believing the President actually is smart enough to get a masters degree- puts you in a moonbat category all to its own.

Also of course Bush is going to say everything is alright, A-ok. We are on the edge of monetary collapse. The fed is putting bandaids on compound fractures, and Jack is right about all the crap of sending letters out early. they want you to jump start the economy with credit cards now and then when you DO get your check spend it on more stuff. It still won't be enough. We are in some serious trouble with no end in sight.

I think you are right JC. My wife is Dutch, and I am seriously considering jumping the shark. I truly love America, and I do not like the idea of leaving my country. But I truly believe that we have been hijacked, and all in the name of our country.

stevie...you`re a good man..but,reread what you wrote.....

i rest my case...

the schism between liberal and conservative ideology had grown to wide to be repaired...

the ball will soon be in your court...and after you blow it,be it by ignoring national security,or gutting our military,or taxing americans into submission,or totally bankrupting the country via an un-do-able universal health care plan, the pendulum will eventually swing back again.....

maybe that`s a good thing....

Gw, Bush is blowing $12,000,000,000 a month in Iraq. It was a mistake. A big mistake. By the way have you noticed that he did not secure the borders? What is all this talk about National Security when he never even secured our borders. Seems to me that would be a priority in National Security. We are just beginning to feel the affects of the deficit he created with this occupation of Iraq.
Tell me, how did you think bin Laden was going to beat us? Did you think he was going to keep crashing planes into buildings until we surrendered? Or do you think, maybe, he thought he could get us to go broke? And the funny thing is we are going in Iraq, a country that didn't even attack us!
This is way deeper than Conservative or Liberal. Way beyond that.

Dogs you have no facts only lies. A barrel of oil was $30 a gallon when Bush took over. Now it is $110. No matter how you try to spin it a proposed or a real tax increase by Clinton had nothing to do with it.
I would rather pay a gas tax and have the money go to fixing roads and bridges than to put the money in some Arab or Oil execs pocket.

somehow you 'accidently" forgot about the drilling.
which is directly tied to price of oil.

1st you were whining about price of gas--get exposed there--then go to oil a barrel and say I'm spinning.

Maybe I need to make perspective a little simpler for--

How many people purchase barrels of oil--how many purchase gas--DUH

--and we have another that doesn't mind more gas taxes--buy wails about the price of gas

oxymoron [oksi‐mor‐on] (plural ‐mora), a figure of speech that combines two usually contradictory terms in a compressed paradox

Dogs you make less sense and prove yourself to be more of a spinner than a young, dancing, Michael Jackson.
Of course the price of gas is tied to the price of a barrell of sweet crude I think they call it. Now, what is wrong with being in favor of a gas tax, in which the monies paid would go into fixing roads and bridges vs paying more at the pump and the monies going into some arab or oil execs trust fund? Tell me you can see the difference. Tax benefits us all, higher price and no tax benefits Arabs ands Oil Execs. Say it with me Dogs Tax benefits everybody Higher price with no tax benefits..... Geesh. What is there not to get?
