Play is OVER 9.5+130. Gomez should find a way to hang around a while. Comparing this to Cotto inside, I think this has greater value. A guy could bet both and win, however lets not get too fancy.

I don't like to steer anyone away on a potential win but I'm not so sure I see value on either play franks. Gomez' best win was over a completely shot Gatti. I'm not even sure if the guy is genuine world class...2 losses to Feliciano? It will take a bit more than toughness to get through the over. He'll have to display some pop and good skills to keep Cotto honest. Gomez doesn't really possess the pop and he's not exactly carl lewis on his feet. The way Cotto blew out a very good fighter in Quintana, I wouldn't take the bet. I think he's too slow, too light hitting, too in your face to go 9 1/2. The plus side on your wager...the kid has never been stopped and he appears to be a bit bigger than Cotto and he's tough. Best of luck.

I like the over too.

Gomez has never been stopped and fought bigger fighters before....

I agree, the over is good. Gomez is definitely the larger welterweight...and he was slugging it out with middleweights (albeit shitty ones) on the Contender T.V. series. That and his chin will help him take Cotto's arsenal.

He can take the punishment if the Ref will let him. The question is...who is the ref?

A bud says exactly the same thing about letting the kid get thumped. If the ref doesn't stop it it can last out. The only caveat here is if Cotto gets cracked and gets furious. He will go into full attack mode then its lites out for Gomez. If the kid behaves himself it can extend.

Lets see how Cotto reacts to getting smacked in the body a little cause Gomez will do it. I also can see Gomez start fading in the seventh round so that over to me is a gutsy play.
My name is Davy Crockett and this money will stay in my pocket.
