I really like listening to the people that work for me talk about the election results. Here are some of the highlights:

1. Someone saw a woman on the news crying with joy because she wasn't going to have to pay her rent or car note. Obama was going to make sure the wealthy people paid extra taxes to cover it.

2. Someone's brother was going to cancel his health insurance on January 23rd, 2009 because he will expect to get free health care as soon as Obama takes office.

3. Black people will be getting paid reparation money for slavery.

Idiots.

yeh the funny part is that all people of color that think they are going to skate because of Obama being elected can think again.

They may end up hating him for not cowtowing to their every need.

Work and participate and pay your own way should be the message to these people.

Make things better before you put your fawking hand out.

Give a hand up I think has been said.

Scotty: Keep in mind this is stuff coming from Obama haters. It's all complete BS. Do you really think someone was on TV saying that they were happy that Obama was going to get her payments made for her? It's made-up. The talk about canceling health insurance the day Obama is in charge is just sarcasm. The talk about the reparations is more made-up BS.

Your delusional, I don't know about the 2nd and 3rd examples but the first one is most definitely true, there's a tape out about it.

And it sounds like the last 2 probably true also.

Hell there was an interview done in Brooklyn by a radio station that went out on the street and ask people who they were voting for and when they answered obama, they ask them if it was because of his policies and they listed them for an answer, the only problem was they were telling them mccain's policies and everyone to a person said yep that's why i'm voting for obama. :142smilie

Thanks for the passive-aggressive attack, brother. Might be the first time I have actually been offended by anyone here at the forum. Some of us are actually capable of checking our political and religious views at the door.....sorry you're probably not one them.

Gotta link to prove this one?

Even if it's true, it only proves that you can't swing a dead cat in this country without hitting a few idiots (especially inside the oval office the past 8 years). :142smilie

I'm delusional? You're confusing Howard Stern's manipulative interviews with journalism. You're also the one saying that the other 2 items are "probably true also". Did you even read those other 2 items? Didn't think so.

This comes dangerously close to violating the new terms of service in the Politics area. FWIW TIA

My favorite 'water-cooler' game at work is "try to spot the republican" ...

Living in San Francisco, conservatives stay real quiet in political discussions. However you can sometimes see them stick their heads out of their gopher hole for a quick comment. Other times they pretend to be liberal. It's pretty funny.

There are some seriously thrilled people at my office, but the excitment will die down I'm sure.

Now if I can just figure out which of my coworkers voted Yes on 8.

I'm kinda in a weird spot, where I don't feel it is right to jump into those type of convos. Being the boss, I try to stay out of their conversations even though I'm dying to jump in on a lot of them. I eat lunch with most of my peers (mostly republicans) and I just stay out of a lot of their uninformed conversations. It's like overhearing people talking about betting on football cards....I want to jump in and tell them that those are nothing but sucker bets, but I know it will only temporarily stun them, it won't change anything.
