Aside from people who absolutely hate the Steelers..............(presumably b/c they repeatedly beat up on your fave franchise)

is there anyone out there who is not a fan of Hines Ward?

Some may say he takes cheap shots, some may have other problems with him

I say that this is a guy who doesn't have all the physical talent in the world who is simply a winner - catching tough balls, making big blocks

i for one was pulling for Pitt in OT just so Hines wouldn't have to deal w/ BS surrounding the fumble

no action for me tonight, so easy for me to say, but pretty good way to start the NFL season - will be back with some Sunday action

until then, gl

I was going to write a similar thread. I for one agree.

Perfect example of making a mistake and having the perceverence to continue on and catch a few clutch passes to set up the field goal.

Usually has a smile on his face no matter what. Tonight of course with the bone head fumble he wasn't smiling, but made up for it in the end.

Kudos to Holmes who still "gots it"... I picked him in the 8th? round and he had 130 yards and a TD tonight.

Awesome guys for sure.

the guy would look great in indy(speaking of ward)... big ben on the other hand would be a disaster in indy.. could only put up 13 pts in a come back win. i would rather have any other starting QB in the AFC (excluding russell)

I'm an Eagles fan and I dislike the Steelers simply because I get tired of all my buddies who are Steeler fans ragging me about the fact that they have 6 rings to none for my Eagles.

That being said, I love Ward. If he were an Eagle, he would be my favorite player for sure and I would wear his jersey proudly. The guys is 100% old time football player and a winner!

if i had to bet $$ I'd say that you must have drafted big ben a little bit too early in your ffb draft

proven winner?? please define a "winner" to me.. just because he has won 2 superbowls with great defense in both years doesn't mean he's a winner. the guy is a game manager! it takes a team to win not 1 guy. Defense wins championships not bigben. the steelers won the superbowl not big ben

so i'm guessing that since big ben has more 4th quarter and OT comebacks since 2004 than brady and manning you would choose big ben over them? i mean you did say hes a "winner" and you would take him any day...

YES, I would take him right now, you put Brady or Manning under center behind pittsburghs offensive line and see how well they do on their ass!!!!!

and if I seem to recall correctly, after the defense let Arizona back in the game last year, I dont remember seeing james harrison or dick lebeau or ANYONE ON DEFENSE, under center to lead a comeback, maybe I watched the wrong game, if so could you kindly send me a copy of the game you watched?:scared

Here we go... :0corn

He has been sacked like a 150 times in 3 years... I don't think Brady could take that abuse but thats purely speculative as I haven't looked at his numbers...

Holy shit what an idiot. The Steelers win nothing without Ben. Defense doesnt always win championships but they will always keep you in a game with a chance to win. Ask any Eagles fan if they would want a quality clutch QB these past 5 years. Ben has proven himdself and is the most underated QB in the league right now. If there is another QB that makes plays from nothing, and has the balls to buy time in the pocket please tell me. Brady and Manning both live on timing with their WR's. They get rid of the ball before their target even looks. Bust up that timing and they are pedestrian at best(2005 Playoffs at Indy).

Steelers have zero run-game right now but they will win, yes their defense is good. But God, give Ben some credit for something...

CartersCub.. are you a bengals or browns or ravens or a fan of any other team that the steelers beat up on every year? That may be one of thee most ridiculous statements I have ever heard. 2 super bowls doesnt make you a winner? Then I'd have to say the only winners in NFL history are Bradshaw, Montana, Aikman, Brady and a couple more that i cant think of right now because how stupid that statement was. That would definitely exclude Peyton Manning from this conversation since he only has 1 measly super bowl win. You must not know much about football or you would have never made such a ridiculous statement. Come on man...
