I didn't see this. What OS said.

I don't even know if you can buy it frozen, I know I wouldn't.

I open up a bag of potato chips, sprinkle in Old Bay and then close it up and shake it.

In Baltimore area you can buy them with the Old Bay baked in. Called Crab Chips.

Just made some crab cakes and liked them. I am a decent cook, so I think I can make some improvements. Haven't tried Jack's recipe yet, but I might tomorrow.

BTW: The two grocer's I checked out here had crab meat in the cold section....sold in a fucking can. It worked, but fuck, $15.99 for 16oz in a can from China?

With this oil spill, I guess it'll be like that around here now, too. :(

You're not getting this for $9.99 anywhere and this is what you're supposed to be using.

This is weird - I guess I had a dream that I posted something in this thread and I went back just now to find a response to it and my post was gone?!?!?

Weird -

Anyway - my question is - better to broil than pan fry?

Jack: I like your recipe better than the one I used last night, but I doctored it up a bit. I added a little onion and put the Worcestershire sauce in the mix. Oh, and I pan fried again. Good stuff. This will be in the rotation.

Good shit.

I can't make them per the recipe but my wife can.

Anyway, Andy, I got hungry for crabcakes and went to samsclub tonight and got 2 cans for $34.48 and it's still not the quality of the lump pic I posted above. It's more like this. If you're getting lump backfin for $9.99 that's one hellava deal.

Made some delicious Crab Cakes tonight.

Followed your recipe, Jack.

I made my own r?moulade sauce - what a great dinner for two!

Used extra Old Bay just before I put them in the fridge and added a little Worcestershire when they came out of the oven.

Broiled them 5 min. each side like you said - Came out perfect!
