my co-worker screaming at our boss at the top of his lungs this morning at 8:15, dont fucking touch me, at least 8 times, slams his door to his office, holy shit, I thought I had a bad temper...both have worked for my employer for over 25 years. isn't it supposed to be the other way around? Don't know if I have the same respect for my boss anymore, for taking the abuse, although he went after him after he said dont fucking touch me, telling him to calm down, instead of retreating for another time. I had to sit down with my boss and explain when someone is that mad, just walk away. :sadwave: after the confrontation and after talking behind closed doors for over an hour it was like nothing ever happened, both back to normal. wtf..

Is your boss brand new to supervision? You don't let disruptions like that go without doing something that involves removing the worker from the area (whether it be going to HR or sending them home) and/or firmly retaking control of the situation. If this guy doesn't receive some sort of disciplinary action for his behavior, your boss should be the one getting the reprimand.

I guess a good argument is good sometimes, it cleared the air. I thought he should have been sent home for the rest of the day too. Doesn't look like anything further is going to happen. there is a fine line between being the boss and a friend. My boss is my friend, he asks me to do something I do it, otherwise he trusts me to do my job. My boss has been my supervisor for 11.5 years, so he is not new. Just doesn't handle conflict very well. It is quiet so far today.

Hedgie,

I'm in Houston next Monday. Are you able to get out & meet-greet over a beer Monday evening? It's the only open evening I have next week.

Have a good one.
